That's what I thought as well. Either Draco is exaggerating, or else Ernie is up to something. Maybe he was waiting for someone to come out of the changing rooms?

Maybe he was afraid of being alone with Draco? After all, Draco did show up to kill Flinch-Fletchley.

Or perhaps Draco scared/threatened/chased him on purpose? He did say his feet were getting tired..

Or maybe Ernie expressed his undieing love for Draco and ended up running to the Forest in tears because Draco said his heart belonged to Harry and now poor Ernie but at least Draco had enough decency not to mention it because Draco is like the nicest guy ever. Or not.

I still think Ernie was waiting for someone, who might or might not have been in the Changing Rooms. And why is it strange for Ernie to be at the pitch but not Draco? Draco must have been up to something. Or else it was just practise.

But why the Forbidden Forest of all places? Maybe Ernie isn't afraid of animals, just people, and knows that Draco doesn't like the Forest so he wouldn't be followed.
