Mood: thoughtful

I feel so slow on the uptake.

I have been puzzling over the curious name Dogear Wryde ever since I came across it, and it took a leisurely browse through that wonderous book the Encyclopaedia of Fantasy for me to connect the dots--it's an allusion to Edward Gorey, who produced a book The Betrayed Confidence: Seven Series of Dogear Wryde Postcards. I feel the first half to be particularly interesting: it could almost be a description of the whole doomed affair between Sirius and Remus.

I'll allow this has nothing to do with the mystery of Draco's socks, but I think it's interesting nonetheless.

Yeah, that's been mentioned here before (sorry, I don't have a link). It's an anagram of his name.

I wondered. I even contemplated looking through the archives... I was pretty sure I hadn't read it, which indicated to me that it was probably in the comments. I think I miss a lot of stuff that goes on in the comments.

Yes, it was in some comments from ages ago. It's practically impossible to track down a piece of information if you have no idea when or where it might have been posted. No worries, though; there are Nraged members who seem to remember every last detail ...
