Oh Molly...

:(

(parent)

small_rodent @ April 21 2004, 03:36:19 UTC

That's exactly what I said when I read this. Oh Molly...

This was the first post that really got to me. I know it's not real but that doesn't matter, there's so much pain there and how can you not respond to it, even if you know that it technically didn't happen?

Those poor Weasleys...

(parent)

bubblebee @ April 21 2004, 08:34:41 UTC

Yeah, it was the first post that got to me too. And reading that Molly's player was bawling when they wrote it... that sent me over the edge...

(parent)

greenanddying @ April 21 2004, 02:57:52 UTC

That is heartbreaking.

(parent)

chapstickmess @ April 21 2004, 02:59:58 UTC

I have to say that this is the first post about this whole thing that made me cry. Tears pouring down my face, crying.

Her pain is so raw, so confused, and so completely uncharted that I can't do anything else.

Thank you to Molly's player. Witty quips and overwrought angst aren't what gets people through. So thank you for being absolutely real, and bringing a mother's pain to us. I think, perhaps, we needed it.

Anonymous @ April 21 2004, 03:28:04 UTC Just passing through...

This whole thing reminds me so much of that terrible scene in OotP where Molly tries to get rid of the boggart and it turns into her family except it's just so much more real because this isn't just a boggart it's real. Real to her anyway. But the players have made it real to me. It's so real. I keep wishing Molly wasn't the one that found them because that is the part that hurt even more than the fact that George is dead and Charlie isn't Charlie anymore. And I feel silly for being so affected by something that's not real so I'm staying anonymous.

This whole thing sucks and if one more person says something cruel about the Weasleys I'll bruise them beyond their expiration date and plug them into a power plant and ohmigosh!tiny hands! and I really feel horrible now.

(<3! to Molly's player, which really feels inappropriate to say, somehow)

(parent)

Anonymous @ April 21 2004, 05:14:31 UTC

Well, on reading this post I suddenly thought of something. Does the Weasley grandfather clock still function/exist in the NA verse? Cos I only recently started reading NA so I’m not sure if anything has happened to the clock as yet., because no one has mentioned it so far. If the clock still functions, then how come no one was aware of what was happening to the twins and Charlie? Or was the clock tampered with?

(parent)

dry_your_eyes @ April 21 2004, 05:41:03 UTC

good question! but maybe she just didn't look at it, with Pettigrew and everything...

(parent)

Anonymous @ April 21 2004, 05:50:42 UTC

hmmm.. but I don't really see how she could have missed it if she was wondering about where the twins had went and whether Charlie was on his way to the Burrow. And Molly wasn't the only one at the Burrow, was she? I'm pretty sure the clock is placed in a rather prominent place.. so..

(parent)

dry_your_eyes @ April 21 2004, 06:02:18 UTC

I quite agree, but there must be an explanation. That clock has always worried me - how does it work and is it possible to trick it? Of course I don't think the Death Eeaters would bother (don't think they cared much if they were found the same day), but there should be something else. Maybe I've missed something and it's been mentioned somewhere. Maybe it's long since broken down?

(parent)

dry_your_eyes @ April 21 2004, 06:15:20 UTC

I also think that if the clock were all right she'd mention it in her post. something like: 'and I didn't even look at the clock which was always right there to tell me that my children were in danger'.

Anyone, help me and explain it, because all I come up with is not realistic enough >_

(parent)

Anonymous @ April 21 2004, 06:31:39 UTC

Me too.. I am completely puzzled! And suddenly I find myself wondering how many attackers there were.. It was very 'bloody', as Molly put it, which sounds odd cos the DE's normal choice for torture seems to be Cruciatius, and I honestly don't think that one DE alone would be able to handle the three of them.. Hmm..

(parent)

dry_your_eyes @ April 21 2004, 10:40:40 UTC

you have the point here. If they did use the Killing Curse and Cruciatius and nothing else there would be no blood at all. I can imagine Charlie using his own hands and so injuring the attackers/himself hence some blood, but not more than that. And DEs adobting any Muggle torture technique seems very unlikely.

ahhh *runs away in confusion*

(parent)

a_player @ April 22 2004, 10:19:44 UTC

Well-spotted--to clear this up, she didn't mention it for a specific reason, it will come up later.

There are tears still streaming down my face from reading her post. This is so real. Wishing she could have done something differently, blaming herself, and wishing it was her instead of her kids. What a mom.

Did you happen to catch the screened post? I think that the commenter was Arthur.

DRA-co.

Where's an attack-Harry when you need one? Someone's nose isn't broken enough.

comava @ April 21 2004, 12:25:13 UTC Re: *scream*

Draco is my favorite character in HP, but right now I hate him. Insensitive prick is just as bad as his father - though if Lucius has enough gall to comment on Molly's post, then I really hope Lupin will shred him to pieces.

(parent)

vassilissa @ April 21 2004, 22:46:45 UTC Re: *scream*

Me too, to all of that.

..

OK, no, I don't hate him. I'm just mad at him. And I think he'd look better with another broken nose.

(parent)

cyrindha @ April 21 2004, 08:10:12 UTC

My heart? Breaking.

Draco's post reminded me of Lucius. That is not a good thing.

(parent)

vassilissa @ April 21 2004, 08:19:55 UTC

*sigh* I guess it'd be a cop-out to hope he's under Imperius.

Little jerk.

(parent)

tabiji @ April 21 2004, 08:53:12 UTC

Ohmygod it's about to get worse. I think Arthur may just kill him.

(parent)

sistermagpie @ April 21 2004, 13:39:24 UTC

Ugh. So awful.

And so pathetic really, because in fact he was missing for days himself with nobody really caring.

This is really making me nauseous to read!

But good job to the players--especially Molly.

(parent)

cyrindha @ April 21 2004, 14:22:58 UTC

I have a vague memory of Draco going missing (in London?) and Narcissa not realizing it. Is Molly in her reply perhaps pointing out that Narcissa has in fact failed to notice his absence in the past? Could she remember that and comment on it in her current state?

At least Draco left after Harry commented. I cling to that as a small sign of hope.

(parent)

sistermagpie @ April 21 2004, 15:39:50 UTC

I think Molly has judged herself the worst mother in the world and is honestly thinking Narcissa would have noticed because any good motehr would.:-( Narcissa, at the time of Draco's disappearance had other business to attend to besides Draco. Molly's response once again shows that she's the one more focused on her children, imo. I think Draco's saying what she feels about herself.:-(

At least Draco left after Harry commented. I cling to that as a small sign of hope.

I think Draco is being incredibly cold and controlled in all his comments and that this is what is so frightening. He's not lashing out at Harry, he's cruelly sticking it to Molly on this very specific issue. I wonder if he has connected it to Narcissa's own behavior at all, consciously. I guess he could hate the idea of her doing this because it does remind him of Narcissa, or perhaps it's a way to tell himself that his mother is far more attentive and protective.

Anyway, I continue to be horrified and fascinated by Draco's focus. He seems to be very invested in some meaning he sees in this whole thing and perhaps very very angry at the Weasleys.

(parent)

cyrindha @ April 21 2004, 18:35:56 UTC

I was being an optimist and saw it as Draco not wanting to start a fight with Harry because of this. The sad thing is that there's also a perfectly credible pessimistic reading of this lack of interaction. Wah.

(parent)

sistermagpie @ April 22 2004, 14:37:35 UTC

Actually, I do feel like ps wasn't trying to start a fight with Harry, exactly. I mean, he's angry at him too (using the word fuck is a huge thing for ps--I don't think he's ever done it before) but I think it's separate. He could have backed off because Harry showed up, but I'm not sure just how he sees Harry as being in the wrong, not knowing how he's really seeing the whole situation. He's already started a fight with Harry.:-)

mimulus_arbutus @ April 21 2004, 14:25:43 UTC

oh god.

i feel i shouldn't have read this, it hurts too much. it's too real and too close. i know her sentiments all too well, "WHY do people we love have to die, and oh, if i had just done something differently maybe they would be ok now!"
i can't even read the comments because i'm too upset to go be angry at the evil malfoy comments i know to be lurking there.
ditto on the feeling sick. can't finish my oatmeal now....

my heart is with you, weasleys, even though you're fictional, you are real to us and we love you.

BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING LEFT OF MY BABY THEN, my baby who was 4 and had tiny hands and tiny feet and his legs couldn't readh over the edge of the chair and I can't burn those tiny feet into ashes I can't

*cries* Oh....it's bad to think that I've only been following NA for a little while, and already I've been reduced into a wreck like this.

George died on Monday. George is dead.

Did anyone catch Arthur's comment that's now screened ?

I suppose I should give up hope on Seamus being able to help heal Charlie. :(

(parent)

Anonymous @ April 22 2004, 09:00:37 UTC

no..

but quite a few hours ago (about a whole day?) there were two comments from arthur in the exact same spot: the first said something like "ron and ginny need you" and the second was something like "and i need you too".

but they were both deleted shortly after.

that doesn't help with what the screened comment is, but still thought i'd point that out as i haven't seen anyone else do so.

(parent)

tabiji @ April 23 2004, 04:14:11 UTC

Heheh, yea, I saw those too, but I didn't mention them because of the Five Minute Rule, and players get that 'grace period' to go back and change things and anything taken out isn't supposed to count as being in the game. Since this one is 'screened' instead of just deleted, It looks as if it's intentionally meant to be part of the game.

(parent)

aintgotink @ April 23 2004, 01:37:32 UTC I know it's been said...

but her post. I'm in tears. The pain that's in it. The raw emotion. I've been reading these past couple of days with a sort of detached belief, but this brought it home and completly broke me.

Kudos to the players. You've all be doing a wonderful job.
