(no title)
I'm thinking that, since Harry's comment to Draco wasn't on the current, most recent entry Draco's posted, that the fact Lucius has seen it and indirectly commented (to Dean) means Draco might have told him about it. Even asked for his advice / directions. Could be wrong, since Malfoy parents could very well just be obsessive enough about their little Drakie-poo to check his journal for comments on older entries. Not that it's that old, since NA's relatively quiet aside from the duel thing, but still...

Now my question is, what does Lucius think? He didn't address Harry's invitation at all, just commented to Dean. So either Draco gets to decide for himself, or Mr. Malfoy has plans. Wonder if it might be in the Malfoy family interests for Draco to, er... befriend Harry Potter...

Well, he did reply to Dean that he never intented to bring any harm on Harry or plot his death. Sounds like an attempt to reassure J_H.

Mm, true indeed.

Hehe, in other words, it was "Yep, Harry, I've no problem with you making moves on my son. We all know that silly mysterious promise he made was to his mother, anyway, not to me. I have very different ideas about what it means to be a man. Oh yes indeed...."

LOL. I love NA Lucius and Narcissa. Don't think they're particularly canonical, but love watching them.

Lucius is not a very involved father, except to address injustices against his person or his family, and he sets this policy out here (along with some advice that could be applied to dealing with just_harry) (http://www.livejournal.com/users/potterstinks/14864.html?thread=184336#t184336). That sort of thing is not his jurisdiction, so he wouldn't comment on it anyway. On the other hand, he's still very controlling, in a very emotionless way, and so it makes perfect sense that he should monitor Draco's entries carefully.

I rather like the way he doesn't feel the need to muck with every moment of his son's life. While it may (read as probably) be due to his fathering skills, I hardly see it as a bad thing. Why shouldn't he step in when the Malfoy name is in danger of being soilied? It will come back to reflect poorly on him as well.
And what if his son does get closer to JH? Despite what he has said, I am sure having JH closer at hand will be beneficial.
