(no title)
Music: Sonic Youth - Eric's Trip

And the masses cried "Go Gryffindor!"

Is that the wave?

Edit: There's another one.

If you're talking about Ron's post, I assumed it was the quidditch rings...?

I thought it was the goal posts myself, but Oh, how the idea of Ron trying to start the wave at this match amuses me! :D

It looks like a Gryffindor victory.

(parent)

sistermagpie @ May 9 2004, 05:11:43 UTC

I can't help but wonder if there was some reason (like Slytherin protest) for the fact it was such a short game...

(parent)

curiouslyjade @ May 9 2004, 05:13:18 UTC

I, too, am rather suspicious. I guess we'll see.

(parent)

snackbreak @ May 9 2004, 07:34:07 UTC

...and if there wasn't, perhaps we should be expecting Slytherin protest in the near future?

(parent)

kievstar @ May 9 2004, 07:33:42 UTC

I don't think so-- Hermione says that the victory is fair, so I just thought that Harry was VERY good (maybe he even talked to Draco before match or for whatever other reason like he really wanted to win the last match) and caught the snitch- there is a reason why he became the youngest seeker of the century

(parent)

ekaterinn @ May 9 2004, 07:59:47 UTC

I agree with you - Hermione would certainly mention it if she didn't think it was fair and Harry is a fine seeker, no matter how the match is played. I wonder about Draco's reaction to this, though...

(parent)

slinkhard @ May 9 2004, 09:32:39 UTC

She wouldn't really know if it wasn't fair though, would she? Plus, she's naturally going to biasef for Gryffindor.
Not that I think it was or wasn't. Just playing devil's advocate...

(parent)

ekaterinn @ May 10 2004, 05:37:47 UTC

Well, she would have noticed obvious unfairness, at least...

(parent)

malafede @ May 9 2004, 14:11:47 UTC

I wonder about Draco's reaction to this, though...

I wonder about the Slytherins in general. I'm not saying the match was dirty or it should have been the Slytherins's - Gryffindors could have won fair and square for all we know.

But if I were a Slytherin after seven years of constant competition, the events of the last months, a rematch called after a rare victory against Gryffindor of all Houses, this would drive me insane.

I'm not saying it's the right reaction to have. But something like this just seems like the perfect fuel to the Slytherins's bitterness. I'm wondering if the NA players are trying to make a point.

Anyway! This only makes sense if Gryffindor did indeed win. Did they? Is this definitive?

(parent)

malafede @ May 9 2004, 14:12:31 UTC

Those shouldn't have been italics. Mmmh.

(parent)

ekaterinn @ May 10 2004, 05:40:50 UTC

They did win - Hermione wrote that "At least it was a clean match this time. That's a victory you can really feel good about." in her entry.

I think you're right about the Slytherin reaction, though. They're being really quiet - makes me think that they are planning revenge or something?

(Forgive me if this isn't that coherent - it's late and I'm tired. ^^;)

(parent)

sistermagpie @ May 9 2004, 14:24:14 UTC

Oh, I wasn't suggesting Harry couldn't have caught the Snitch early--Gryffindor's beaten Slytherin fairly before. But Ron's saying it was a 2 minute game made me wonder if there was a reason after last week's game. Gryffindor could have just got lucky with Harry spotting the Snitch early and being able to get it without Draco being able to stop him. I'm just wondering after such a drag-out victory last week that Slytherin won and then was disqualified if there isn't anything more than that.

If Slytherin was playing with any heart it wouldn't make it an unfair win, and I doubt Hermione would care. Whatever happened it was a major anti-climax after last week's game is what I'm saying. That game seemed to be considered sort of the game of the century by everyone.

sistermagpie @ May 10 2004, 14:05:10 UTC

Sorry, that should read, "If Slytherin was playing without anyheart it wouldn't make it an unfair win, and I doubt Hermione would care."

I love Harry's comment to Hermione. Succumb to peer pressure, indeed.

I expect the Slytherins will start whining soon. Not that I don't like them (actually I was hoping they'd win) but it's not like Gryffindor being favored is some new thing. They've only been in school for almost seven years now.

I'm hoping Ernie will post a commentary about the match so we can get the unbiased version, even if it was only two minutes.

lonelyspade @ May 10 2004, 01:43:22 UTC

I know this is off topic, but I had to put it somewhere, and nobody seems to use the off-topic site for some reason, and I was really really excited and DID ANYONE ELSE SEE IT?

They're playing Sorcerer's Stone on ABC, and they're showing this interview with clips of the third movie in it between the movie and the commercials, and in one part of it, they were talking about Hermione and Ron and the "teenage tensions" and they showed that bit where Hermione's arm slides down Ron's, but then they also showed a clip where Hermione was hanging off of Ron's neck and Emma kept using the phrases "hand action" and "love hate relationship" and so there's obviously more than anyone's seen/heard of and and and...

Yah.

[takes a deep breath]

nabiki @ May 10 2004, 03:16:52 UTC

yeah in the trailer she totally grabs his arm / hand!!!!!! then jumps back a bit cause omgembarassingicantlikeboysomgcooties!!!!!!1

Theres pictures of them hugging, on the trading cards, but then again Harry is holding her at some point too...Though I'm sure they'll present that in a less romantic tensiony manner :p Cuaron definately seems to be more edgy and working with the "teenage" side of the story quite a bit
