(no title)
Percy updates. Apparently the Ministry may send a man over.

I'm suprised but not too suprised that this is the first post from Percy in a while and we've not gotten a "I'm sad - my brother is dead and another is in the hospital" post...

and the general cheery mood of his post seems rather suspect....

What is wrong with Percy? I mean he always was a prig, but this is taking things too far. Being jokey about Recent Happenings? I don't think so. Either the boy is so repressed he can't see over his shirt collar (which is possible), or he is evil and a little stupid...argh! (or the third possibility is that horrible things have happened to him too and he isn't actually Percy anymore)

perhaps, although I seem to remember that the players hinted at no imperius (I could be confusing na with canon though...my brain isn't with it today) But yes, when I saw that post I thought either he has no memory of what has happened or he's being controlled by someone else.
Anybody else have speculation?

His reaction to the past events are typically Percy, but it still stings. And on the whole, it seems as if it was brushed off too fast. No one is mentioning it anymore and everyone is carrying on as usual... I'm sure Ginny and Ron are trying to distract themselves with Quidditch, but something just seems off. Mourning isn't over in a week or two.

A helpful note on the post title.

Percy does sound far too cheerful. I'm guessing he's either putting a brave face on because he's talking to a community mostly made up of 'schoolkids' he feels he has a duty to reassure. That or heading directly for a nervous breakdown.

That's really clever! I want an excuse to use that word now.

I will give him the benefit of the doubt and hope that he is headed for a nervous breakdown. I read that post open-mouthed!

There have been such happenings in the Wizarding World! I'm right in the thick of it! My brothers are dead woo!

Can I slap him?

At least he didn't mention keys or the sort this time. I still think that he's EVIL.

That's in regards to his behaviour in book five becoming NA canon. It hasn't. It doesn't mean anything about his behaviour now, though.

I'm with comava, this post sounds very Percy like to me. He's always so prim and formal. He considers himself a man of office, which means putting on a brave face for the public no matter what tragedy befalls you. Mourning is for private time, for a man like Percy.

But this post does make me cringe a bit. I mean, there's no bigger jinx than saying everything's fine, is there? It's like saying "I'll be right back" in a horror movie.
