Current mood: busy
Current music:Draco and Lucius conversing

The past few days have been simply so busy that I scarcely have had time to breathe! In fact, in a few moments Lucius, Draco, and I shall be Apparating again so I daresn't take too much time putting down these memoirs on my journal.

Draco's birthday has come and gone. Although he did receive a few small presents from his father and I the rest of the lot will have to wait until April when his real celebration shall be. The darling has been planning for months to hold a celebration to end all celebrations and I fully support his decision to delay a proper glorification of his special day. After all, why would one want to associate their day with something as bromidic as New Year's Day? I know that if I were Draco that I should not like it at all. Why, people becoming more concerned with displaying their ability to count backwards than paying tribute to the day when a superior young man such as Draco Malfoy was born ought to be charmed into straightening out their priorities!

The day after his birthday, the aforementioned and droll New Year's Day, we traveled to Provence to spend the day with Lucius's parents. His parents, of course, are proper Purebloods and have no time for both idle pleasantries or holiday celebrations. Their manor, not a little ostentatious in comparison with our own modest home, was completely devoid of holiday decorum. I would not be surprised if Mother Malfoy ordered their house elves to cease and desist with fairy lights and enchanted ice angels this year. I, in comparison, feel that holiday decorum (if done tastefully, of course) is a necessity. At Malfoy Manor we have many lovely touches here and there, just enough to show visitors that we Malfoys actually do partake in festivities like people less fortunate than we do (although we, naturally, do so with much more style and elegance).

Regretfully, we could not remain long in Provence, having to travel to Croix the next morning to meet with Lucius's associate and his family - Tigernach Nott and his wife, Nesta, and son, Theodore - for dinner at their holiday home. Tigernach and Lucius had much to discuss and I thought it lovely how much they included Draco and Theodore in their conversation. Nesta and I, in the meantime, concerned ourselves with affairs such as the new Vivienne Westwitch line and the poor late Kiki Leavonshire. Despite sharing our sorrows for Kiki, Nesta and I did get on wonderfully. It has been such a long time since Lucius and I had seen the Notts socially and I do hope that we may do so again in the near future. Nesta fully supports her husband and his work, something that I find to be comforting as some of the witches in our circle, most notably poor deceased Kiki, are not so supportive.

After our meal and conversation with the Notts had come to an end we left for Cannes to take care of some business with the estate that Mother had left to Draco when she passed. As things here are nearly finished, we are just about ready to travel to Cote d'Azur to relax a bit before we must take Draco to King's Cross.

Likely I have taken much more time than I should have and must be off now. Cote d'Azur awaits and I am looking foward to sunning.
