Current mood: drained

I am utterly exhausted due to my extensive travelling over the past twenty-four hours. Had some daft witch with Portkey Office at the Department of Magical Transport not mussed up my Portkey, I would not have had to spend a good thiry minutes Apparating and Disapparating yesterday! My Portkey was supposed to have taken me to Marrakech but instead I ended up in a dreadful place called Marana—in the States! How one could mistake my clear, concise penmanship detailing my wish to arrange for a Portkey to Marrakech, Morocco for Marana, Arizona, America is beyond my comprehension!

After I realised that I was, in fact, not in Morocco but the States and surrounded by women with large coifs and their pasty legs offset by their pointed boots, I made haste and Disapparated. As Apparating long distances can be ever so tiring, I decided to Apparate in stops and starts. I was so fatigued by the time that I ended up in my proper destination that I needed sweet mint tea (with a splash of alcohol) as a refresher!

At any rate, I had a rather lovely meeting with an associate in an extravagant medina. My, but how I fancy the palace I saw there! It cannot compare to Malfoy Manor, of course, but it was quite stunning. I do believe it would be a most excellent addition to the properties that Lucius and I own.

Before I took to calling on a friend of Lucius' that owns a lucrative silver mine in the Atlas Mountains, I did browse a bit in a charming little souq and acquired a lovely gift for Draco. I shall send it to him in a few moments after Lucius is finished composing a post he would like to send along to Draco as well. I do hope the gift pleases him; it will complement him most favourably.

The younger Mr Malfoy is getting a cane? Goody.

Every gentleman of leisure should have one.

Yes and I have always wanted to have Lucius as a student.

Oh, your wit never ceases to amuse, Sylvia.

That wasn't wit, it was a sad observation.

It is no fault of mine that you lead an un-fulfilling life which prohibits you from seeing things in a positive light.

I have completed my letter; as you can imagine, it was rather a hard letter to write but Draco's welfare is of the utmost concern. I shall send Manky to you with it. Please get your rest, darling, as your travels must have been ever so tiring.

Manky has informed me that the owl bearing post and parcel was sent. Yes, the letter was a rather difficult one to write but it inevitably had to be written, as you well know. I am quite sure that our Draco will rise to the occasion and perform admirably.

He will. I fully believe in his ability to rise to this test and I am confident he will comport himself as a Malfoy. If he can pass this test, then we can rest easier, knowing we've done our best by him.

I believe we already have done our best by him.

Ah, but now someone else is to make that call. I fully believe that Draco will be found to be a most exceptional young man. I have faith in him.

I believe the very same thing, Lucius. I have always had faith in Draco and shall continue to do so.

You've been an exceptional mother. I do think that it's a testament to your abilities and empathy; as well as being wise enough not to stretch yourself too thin. Too many women do just that and the results are tragic, are they not?

If you like, I'd love to hear all about your weekend. I'm enjoying some Stolichexna vodka in my suite.
