Current mood: contemplative

When I was a small girl, Mother and Father took me for long holidays on the fanciful yacht Father received as a gift from an old Greek wizard. I can remember very clearly standing on the deck as Father would stand next to the wheel and direct it with his wand. The feeling of the water beneath the vessel was something of a comfort to Mother; she rather enjoyed the lulling sensation as the waves rocking the great boat back and forth. As for me, I did not like the feeling one bit.

The drifting sensation frightened me.

I did not like the fact that my feet were not firmly planted on something solid, unmoving.

It frightened me.

It frightens me no longer.

I find that, finally, I have made peace with drifting...and I look forward to doing so in the future.
