Sweet bird of youth
The past twenty four hours have been so eventful that I almost do not know where to start!

Last night whilst Remus was out chasing Sirius and Harry around the grounds, I made my way into the kitchen and supervised Dacey and a few of Remus's house elves as they set up some refreshments. Dacey taught me how to make a kettle of tea and I found it ever so easy! I don't know why I haven't tried doing it for myself before. House elves are strange, annoying little creatures most of the time but they are rather useful. I honestly do not know what I would do if I did not have Dacey afoot. I was rather nervous about making the tea right but the house elves bustling about assured me that there was no way I could ruin a pot of tea. Despite all of their attempts to comfort me, I was still very nervous.

After the boys came back inside all rather exhausted, they congregated in the kitchen and the house elves began serving us. I daresay my tea was a hit (unless, of course, they were all just being polite). One of the house elves set out a game of exploding snaps and while some people became rather competitive and occupied with that, I attempted to help clear the table. Harry, the polite boy that he is, conversed with me while doing so. Naturally I began to talk about my Little Dragon as I always do and he was so very attentive that I nearly teared up. He's so very kind and he's the same age as my darling boy and I just miss him so very much that I just talked and talked about my little Drakie-do. I believe I may have been vexing Sirius's temperment with so much conversation while he was trying to focus on his game but if one does not speak up, one can not learn that they are doing something unbecoming, can they?

This morning, after having something of a debate with Lucius, I finally took to engaging in my morning routine of sipping a Fuzzy Neptune and giving myself a facial. As Draco had given me a plant yesterday with a type of aloe that assists one with keeping their youthful beauty, I opened a few pods and placed the aloe in my moisturizer. I knew it was doing something as my face felt somehow smoother and more delicate.

Once I removed the moisturizer and looked into the mirror, I was ever so surprised to see just how young I really looked! I had Dacey take a photo of me which you can see I have used for this entry. Why, this is precisely how I looked when I was a girl of sixteen at Hogwarts! Thank Merlin I still have the figure I did then (save for the fact that my breasts are a bit bigger now on account of birthing Draco) and my stunning outfit still fit me. I didn't really quite know what to do but admire myself and make off for Diagon Alley. I didn't want to be too terribly late meeting my boy and his girlfriend, Miss Parkinson.

I first went to Gringotts and took out some galleons for myself and Draco. Lucius has been neglecting giving him spending money and I will not have my boy live like a pauper at that school. After I withdrew the funds I met up with he and Miss Parkinson outside of Florian Fortescue's ice cream parlor. After comissioning a portrait of the two darling children (who were so very affectionate that it made me misty-eyed on more than one occassion), Draco and his lovely girl decided to slip into Flourish and Blotts for a bit. I wanted to browse some more so I told them I would be outside.

I was looking at a lovely display of casting stones in a window when a boy wearing a Hogwarts cloak came up beside me. Now, I looked to be the same age as him and he of course noticed my stunning beauty. The poor dear worked up the nerve to speak with me and I was delighted to have the attention. His name was Ernie, although I told him I thought that Ernest was much more befitting a charming boy such as himself. He flushed (how darling!) and asked me in the most adorable fashion if I would fancy going to the Leaky Cauldron with him. Unfortunately for the poor thing, Draco and Miss Parkinson came out of Flourish and Blotts at that time and overheard him. Draco went into an absolute RAGE and it was all I and Miss Parkinson could do to hold him back. Finally this Ernest disappeared into a throng of people and we women finally got the Little Dragon to simmer down.

To help ease his troubles (especially after he sulkily tried on some dress robes that Miss Parkinson and I picked out for him at Madam Malkin's. . .I thought he looked very handsome and bought them right up. I do hope he wears them soon.), I suggested that we head down to Knockturn Alley as I knew he was looking to purchase a few special items.

Whilst we were meandering down that alley, I spied Lucius up ahead. I daresay he was shocked to see me there with Draco and Miss Parkinson. Why, he was so shocked that he did not even comment on my lovely, young appearance! He barely gave us any indication of recognition and turned on his heel. Draco began to follow his father but Lucius pivoted and glared the most callous, malicious glare I have ever seen directed at my boy. I did not like that one bit and urged Miss Parkinson to go to Draco while I tried to catch up with Lucius.

The words we exchanged were heated. I do not wish to go into more detail at this time as I am currently in a much better mood than I was then.

I am back at Dogear Wryde listening to some strangely appealing although very loud music that Harry suggested would be befitting of me today.

Well if Potter's so polite, why didn't you say so? I'm sure coming to Diagon Alley was utterly taxing, and certainly you would have better enjoyed yourself if you'd stayed and spent your holiday with Potter. Since you can talk to Potter about me, why even bother having me around at all, Mother?

Why, what is this all about, Draco? I don't understand what brought this on. You know I enjoyed spending time with you today on Diagon Alley and yesterday in Hogsmeade. I would prefer to have spend all my holiday with you but you know I couldn't come stay at Hogwarts with you. I am not even going to dignify your last question with a response, darling.

Love,
Mother

I meant to thank you, Narcissa, for the tea and company last night! It was a lovely evening all around - save for having to hunt down the Terrible Twosome, though it was quite fun when I caught them - and I appreciate your effort more than I can say. If you like I can ask one of my house-elves to give you a few simple lessons in cooking - nothing too extreme, not yet, of course. Would you be interested? You would like Weetzy, she is very sweet.

Also, I want to warn you that tonight Sirius and I will be putting extra security enchantments on the estate. Your encounter with certain persons at Diagon Alley has me a trifle concerned about uninvited guests and so we're just going to reinforce things around Dogear a bit. You'll need to stay in the house so as not to accicdentally get trapped outside, all right? I'll send Harry to let you know when we're done.

- Remus

PS: That plant your son gave you is remarkable.

I am just pleased that everything went so well and that you enjoyed yourself. If one of your house elves would be willing to show me a few things then, by all means, I would be very interested. I am afraid that the only thing I know how to make is biscuits so whichever elf would be guiding me would have to be very patient as I know practically nothing of the culinary arts.

I am so very sorry that you and Sirius will have to go to such lengths to ensure the security of Dogear Wryde. Although I do not think that he would be so foolish as to do anything, I understand completely why you feel you must take action.

You can tell Harry to look for me somewhere in the East Wing.

Narcissa

P.S. Isn't it, though?

I shall set you up with Weetzy. She is a very nice little elf and very patient and helpful. I brought her over from school; she used to look after me during transformations, so I trust her implicitly. She's also a smashing cook - her taragon chicken is the best you'll find anywhere.

And as for unwelcome intruders, I don't think he'd try anything either, but it's best to be safe than sorry. Particularly when you are housing persons of a particular importance to our little world. It shouldn't take too long, really - I do believe there is a water-war currently being waged throughout the house.

My dear, if you do not want to be soaked, I suggest you lay low. However, should you need to take up arms, you will find sufficient means of defense on the bottom shelf of the linen closet, next to the third staircase, just beyond the parlor.

One should always look out for one's guests. Especially when they're left in a house with those two.

- Remus

PS: Might I have a peek at your plant at some point? I was quite good at Herbology once upon a time, and odd flora fascinate me even now.

I would have replied sooner but I heard somewhat maniacal laughter and lots of spraying water noises outside of my door. I must admit that I became a bit preoccupied with standing watching through the keyhole of my door lest someone decided to surprise me. Water that does not come directing from a bottle of Evian coming unnecessarily on my hair is not very welcome as I cannot be certain of the mineral content in it.

I do hope you managed to gain the upper hand on those two. It definitely sounded as though there were a small war going on throughout the corridors.

When should Weetzy like to begin?

Narcissa

P.S. I shall bring the plant down to the breakfast nook. I haven't used any aloe from it this morning yet so I am afraid I do not look quite as youthful as yesterday. Consequently, my skin does feel much more supple than it did two days ago.
