Current mood: cold

Back to school.
If Hogwarts is this empty-feeling without Cho, I hate thinking of what it will feel like when Ron, Hermione, and Harry leave. There's a neatly-made bed next to mine that will not be slept in all year, and next year, too. I might sleep in it sometime.

I'm glad to be back, anyway. I love watching the Sorting. All the first years look so tiny! Well, not so tiny, I think there's one or two at least as tall as me, but they're still children. I love clapping for each of the new Gryffindors as they come join our table, knowing that I'll see them in the common room later, remembering my first day at Hogwarts, smiling at them and trying to make them feel welcome. I hope they love it here as much as I do, despite their frightened expressions.

I think Professor McGonagall smiled at me at the feast, too. It might be a good omen for Transfiguration this year! Of course it could have just been the flickering of the candles, too.

The clapping is the best part of the Sorting, isn't it? I enjoyed it very much as well. Why don't you give the empty bed to Dante?
