Bleus.
Everyone in my dorm is chattering about the Bleu Ball. There's a sense of electricity in the air (maybe that's just my computer humming)... but I'm terribly nervous. I won't be able to go without a date, and I want to so badly! I had such a nice time at the Yule Ball with Neville Longbottom two years ago; I didn't mind at all that my feet were bruised afterwards! I was the only girl from my dorm that got to go. But this year, Neville is going with Lavender Brown, so I don't think I'll get to go. I think I'm growing out of my dress robes, anyway. Maybe I can take down the hem a little, but the sleeves are short and everyone would stare at me. That really would make it The Nightmare.

Maybe I am better off not going...

I have a lot of reading for History of Magic to catch up on, anyway, and then an essay to write. Goblin rebellions of the fourteenth century. Maybe I can ask Percy to check my rough draft for me, since he's very knowledgeable on the subject.

On another note, I think I'm going to see if I can take a spare plug I have for this machine home to my Dad next holiday. He just loves them!

hi, ginny.

i don't think you should worry about your sleeves being too short. i asked parvati patil about bracelets and she gave me a whole, whole, whole lot of information about dressing up. i think if you asked her the right way you might be able to get her to limit it to just a spell to make your dress robes look nice. :) or i could give you the stuff she gave me, because i really, really don't think i wanted quite this much stuff.

i think i'd probably be better off not going, but i guess it's ok to be prepared in advance. i'd rather stay in the common room all night, but i guess that would get kind of boring.

anyway, i hope things work out for you :)

your friend,
susan

Hi, Susan! How nice of you to offer! I don't have any accessories at all... I think my parents haven't realised how nice it might be for a girl to have some. :) Do you really think Parvati might help me? I don't think I've ever talked to her, but I would try if I knew she wouldn't mind. However, I shan't worry until I have a date.

Collecting plugs for Dad again, Ginny? He has enough to open a Muggle shop already, unless Mum found them and threw them away again. I heard Fred and George might be dropping by for The Nightmare (I'm glad at least SOMEONE agrees with me that that should be the real name for the stupid ball), they could get new dress robes for you, their shop is doing pretty well with their latest invention. Have you seen them? Cow Cupcakes! You can eat them 4 times! They come back up your throat after you swallow them the first three times, wicked stuffs! I hope Percy isn't going to turn up though. If he does, I'm going to lock him in the Tower and you can make him do your essay, might as well put his big head into good use there!

I know! Dad's got hundreds of them! But his eyes light up like a kid in Honeyduke's when he sees a new one, and this one's got three plugs in one. I know Mum doesn't like it, but I think it's adorable.

D'you really think George and Fred would do that for me? I don't know if I could even ask them. I'll have to watch what cupcakes I ingest from now on! And I rather think Percy will be chuffed to put his knowledge about Goblin rebellions to good use! But I'll be quite sad if he gets to go to the Ball and I don't.

By the way - do you still fit in your dress robes? I noticed the sleeves look a little ragged and I thought maybe I could fix them for you.

Dad has gone mad, he owled me a note with a bloody huge URGENT written on the front asking me to owl one of the computers back home. I'm going to need a new owl if Pig ever makes it home with a computer! But I owled him one of those biscuits or whatever you call them, you know those square things that Hermione carries around the computer room for storing things, I think. No idea how anything can fit into that, those crazy Muggle inventions.

I'm sure George and Fred would get dress robes for you, they got mine for me but they really are a little frayed now. No big deal though, I'm not sure if I'm even going to The Nightmare. Hey, uh did Hermione tell you who she's going with? She MUST have told somebody by now!

Oh and Mr Big Head would fall over himself if you ask him to talk about Goblins and all that jargon. If I were you I'd be worried for my ears but at least he gets to be useful once in his life, eh?

I wonder if the little square things have some sort of shrinking charm on them?

Well, I would never ask the twins to spend their money on something so expensive anyway. I'm glad they're doing so well, but like you said, I'm not even sure I'm going to The Nightmare. ;) I would feel terrible if their money was wasted on something I don't really need.

I haven't gotten the chance to chat with Hermione in a while, so I'm not sure about her Ball date. Maybe if you asked her to go, she would tell you? And if she didn't have a date, well, maybe she would say yes, and you could both go? I know she wants a date-date, but I'm sure you would be a great date. If you'd like me to talk to her, let me know. :)

We'll give you the money for robes if you promise to try some of our experimental candies.

Hi!!

Hiya Gin!!! Did you get a new journal?! I'm so glad to see you're posting!!
Have you got a date for this Ball coming up?? I haven't yet, but I think if I can't find anyone to go with, I'm going to go by myself! I'll definitely be taking photos!! (=^)))

If you can't find a date, you are more than welcome to come with me and help me take pictures!!! Wouldn't that be brilliant?!

Well, see you!!!

Virginia, I would be more than happy to take a look over your essay for you. However, as you are probably well aware, this will not constitute my actually doing the essay for you. I understand that you would undoubtedly not request this; however, I feel I must make it clear before certain brothers of ours begin demanding equal rights.

I am pleased to see you making such an effort in History of Magic. Professor Binns is just wonderful - don't you agree?

Good luck,
Percy
