And a Happy New Year to All....
As to whether it's been a successful new year or not, I'd say only that it's been one of ups and downs, and that I might have taken just as many steps back as I have forward.

My Mum did end up receiving her scarf for Christmas. I'm not sure which of us was more surprised. Dad...still wasn't pleased, but he was civil. And Mum was happy, I'm sure of it. I don't know if or when I'll see them again, but I think the prayers and get well cards should at least come to a halt. Finally. Thanks for your help on that, Lav.

I'm sorry I left on Christmas Even without saying much in the way of goodbye, Neville...I guess I felt that it was a bad time to be there. You and your Gran seemed nowhere near finished having it out, but I hope things are better now.

I'd best go now. The coffeeshoppe manager looks as if he's ready to close up and go celebrate at the Pub. I think I might see if I can do the same.

P.S.: Got a postcard from Terry yesterday. Said "the gutter just isn't the same without you" and that was all. Don't know what to think on that.
