Current mood: melancholy

Le sigh.
It has been a most dreadful week. Poor Lavender has been a mess as a result of an unfortunate visit to Neville's house over Christmas. The poor dear believes it is her fault, and Neville is not in much better shape. I have had a tough time in comforting. Susan of Hufflepuff appears to be doing better, but Justin Finch-Fletchley is always worthy of a dirty look from me in the corridors. This morning the tarot said that things would look up for those around me, but unfortunately mentioned nothing of myself, so I have chalked it up to an error in reading.

Lavender and I went through a few beauty charms this evening, as I had hoped it would cheer her up, but her shining charms were simply lacklustre. It does not take a Seer to tell that her heart is simply not in it.

At dinner Professor Flitwick referred to me as Padma, and I am now considering a new hairstyle. Padma rarely does anything with her hair, so this should make for less confusion. One would think that the staff could find it within themselves to recognise their students on an individual basis, rather than confusing them with their twins, but I suppose this is not meant to be.

Then as I was cleaning up the mess from Lavender and my experiment, I broke a nail which will have to be treated immediately. This was not in the cards this morning. I will have to look to Professor Trelawney for advice. This has been a terrible day.

Is Lavender doing okay? :(

I, uh, well, you know. I just can't talk to her... its just...I can't.

Don't worry, Neville. Lavender is coping with the situation to the best of her ability and will certainly be quite all right. I do believe that the two of you should discuss this . . . but perhaps not just yet. The leaves were not so generous this morning.
