It's strange and nice All together, being back here and knowing It's our final year. One year left as students, proving ourselves and Hitting the real world and waxing poetic about all these things as Well. I shall stop that.
Coming back here is also a bit of a culture shock, After the things my sister and I have been up to in the last month or so. Mama and Papa took us back to visit relatives. They live in Patna, Bihar, and we're lucky that Mama still speaks fluent Hindi at home or we would Have had to speak through our parents. Our cousin Vinh is taking English at school (poor thing's a Squib) and as he is seventeen, Padma and I spent quite a lot of our time Being taken around to different places by Vinh and his rambunctious friends.
I am slightly suspicious and Of the opinion that Mama and Aunt Pritha were plotting with Pritha's friend Indira and trying to get either Padma or myself better aquainted with Indira's son (and Vinh's friend) Jawaharlal. I cannot even say his name Without stumbling once or twice, and so I can't see myself agreeing to marry him. Also, in these days of women's rights, I'd like to have A career first. I think the fashion industry Needs me. I will not speak out on my sister's behalf concerning Her opinion of Jawarerhsjdgvlweofvgjkdalalal, though.
It rained quite a lot when we were in Bihar. Mama and Papa preferred catching up with relatives as opposed to sight-Seeing, but I don't think Vinh and his friends minded showing Padma and I around all that much. Mama told all our Aunts and Uncles about the End of sixth year at Hogwarts over dinner One night, and what I Saw, but I quickly convinced them it was just a Fluke. Aunt Pritha still asked me how Ganesh Chathurthi would turn out this year. I didn't know. I told her That. I'm not even doing Divination any more this year so How should I know those things?
Pritha and her friends spent a lot of time in her kitchen. I ate so many modaks I thought I was Going to burst, but luckily all the walking around and sight-seeing Kept any excess weight I would have aquired Off my hips. I was sick for a week or so When we first got over there, but. I don't know. We learnt Some traditional dances, just playing around in the back yard, and Pritha dug some of her old dancing saris out of her carved Wooden chest. Wearing the saris makes a person Feel beautiful. Even my fingers felt Beautiful. I saw this one woman on the streets with a young child and her Arms looked like twigs. I'm surprised she Didn't break. I do not want twig arms, I just want to be beautiful. Hogwarts uniforms don't often make one look beautiful, Though. One year left.
Also, I wish I could ride an elephant Every day. But I am also glad to be Back here, I suppose. I should like to visit Bihar again some Time.
