Current music:Skid Row - Remember Yesterday

Just slipping away for a moment as Harry seems to be resting comfortably.

This last week has been... again, words fail me. For three days, I had no idea if Harry was alive or dead. I will not forget that feeling for a very long time. As Padfoot, my emotions are different but no less strong... in fact, my protective feelings towards Harry were even stronger than normal. I literally could not think of anything other than finding Harry. Nothing else mattered. Eating, sleeping, nothing. Just finding Harry. Remus kept making me change back so I'd remember to eat.

Now, seeing him in that hospital bed... he looks so young, so fragile. And I cannot protect him. His destiny is to fight Voldemort, and I know he must do this, but I cannot help my feelings. I don't want to lose him. We've had so little time together... life just isn't fair.

I'm not ready to lose him.

Harry's going to be fine, Sirius, it's Harry!

jadedsirius @ 2003-06-28 06:15 pm UTC

I know, Ron, thanks. I guess I'm just tired. Could you bring Harry the new Quiddtich Weekly when you visit next? I think he's getting bored.

Sure! I've been looking around for things to keep him busy or something. Go to bed!

I'm not leaving the ward, Ron. Not until Harry does. I'll be curled up on the floor as Padfoot, try not to trip over me this time!

Haha oops! Sorry about the last time! Do you want anything to eat? I'll bring some up if you want!

jadedsirius @ 2003-06-28 06:25 pm UTC

A salad would be lovely, thanks, if you can manage it. And it's not as if I'm hard to spot. I'm a huge black dog, Ron.

Re:

It was dark in there last night! Is your tail okay now though? Will be up with salad in a minute! Is that all you're going to eat?

jadedsirius @ 2003-06-28 06:31 pm UTC

Animagi heal quickly, luckily.

And just a salad is fine. I could murder a vegetable curry but I doubt the house-elves are up to it.

I nearly did, this morning. Sorry about that.

You drooled on my foot.

You won't lose him. We won't.

Voldemort's not laying a finger on that boy ever, ever again.

jadedsirius @ 2003-06-28 06:26 pm UTC

You and I both know we can't guarantee that, Remus.

There's just never enough time, is there?

(parent)
lupercus @ 2003-06-28 06:31 pm UTC

Oh, I can guarantee it. Watch me.

No, there never is enough time. It's not fair to think you've lost someone so soon after finding them. It's a terrible feeling.

I'm packing up our rooms to go home, forgot about that in all the chaos. Dumbledore's asked to see you and I, should I go for the both of us? Or might you come for a bit?

(parent)
jadedsirius @ 2003-06-28 06:34 pm UTC

You go for the both of us please? I doubt I could put up with the twinkling right now. Or the tea.

(parent)
lupercus @ 2003-06-28 06:54 pm UTC

Ugh, all right. I can only hope he's moved past the lemon drops phase. I hate those things.

I've no idea what he wants. Can't be good, he called me "my dear boy," again.

Am off. Talk some sense into those Weasleys, and Minerva if you would? Honestly.

YOU KNOW WHO!!!

Say the name, Ron.

Ron? You know I'm fond of you, but.

Grow up.

scotchtartan @ 2003-06-28 06:48 pm UTC

Somehow, Professor, I do not feel it is a sign of immaturity that Mr Weasley does not wish to use You-Know-Who's name.

Professor M McGonagall

(parent)
lupercus @ 2003-06-28 06:51 pm UTC

The longer he waits to get over it and just say the damn name, Minerva, the longer he and his live afraid. It's silly. It's a name. Even Jews go around speaking the name Hitler.

I'm surprised at you.

- Remus

(parent)
scotchtartan @ 2003-06-28 06:56 pm UTC

Given that 99.8 bar percent of the Wizarding World does not wish to speak his name, I cannot fathom why you are surprised. I myself do not wish to have the ideas of others imposed upon me and cannot imagine that Mr Weasley wishes to have the same done to him. If he does not wish to speak the name it is his choice and his alone.

Professor M McGonagall

(parent)
lupercus @ 2003-06-28 07:01 pm UTC

Well, 99.8 bar percent of the Wizarding World are bloody cowards, then.

If you don't want to speak the name Voldemort then don't. I however will exercise my right to speak it as I wish and I'd thank you and the Weasleys not to tell me I can't, if you can't take it in kind.

- Lupin

(parent)
scotchtartan @ 2003-06-28 07:12 pm UTC

Perhaps I did not make myself clear, Professor. I did not insist that you cease speaking his name; however, I take insult at the implication that anyone who does not say his name is a coward. It would be wise to not consider your own ideas the only methods of bravery. I do not wish to say his name, nor do the Weasleys or many, many other people. Similarly, I do not wish to instil the fear of God into a seventeen-year-old child by telling him he shall forever be controlled by the Dark Lord simply because he was raised to fear speaking his name. Please desist in terrifying Mr Weasley.

Professor M McGonagall

Oh, I don't have time for this, I'm late for Albus.

Dry up, Minerva. See you next term.

Professor Lupin, Harry's in the hospital because of You Know Who! Stop saying his name!

Yes, and Harry speaks his name freely. Your point?

Right.

Do you knock wood and walk around gravestones and throw salt over your shoulder, as well?

This isn't time for superstitions, Ron. This is reality. Voldemort is reality.

Harry spent ten years without knowing his name, too, Professor.

(parent)
lupercus @ 2003-06-28 07:11 pm UTC

And since he's learnt it he's seen as much if not more than any of us who survived it the first time.

Look, I know it's scary. I'm sorry, but I don't see the point in being afraid of a name. It'd be like me saying "the you-know-what" instead of the moon, and I'm terrified of the damn thing. But how silly would that sound? It's just a word.

(parent)
lupercus @ 2003-06-28 06:47 pm UTC

It's funny, when you've seen half the people you love die, and when you yourself have to undergo a painful, horrifying transformation into a hideous beast once a month for your entire life, you aren't afraid of trivial little things like a bloody name.

Get out of it, Weasleys. Say the name or be forever at his mercy.

Voldemort.

- Remus

percyneedsalife @ 2003-06-28 07:02 pm UTC

So we're supposed to feel bad for you on top of being terrified?! Great, professor, great.

lupercus @ 2003-06-28 07:12 pm UTC

Oh, come of it. I'm not after pity, I'm trying to make you understand what priorities are.

It. Is. Just. A. Name.

(parent)
erniemacmillan @ 2003-06-28 07:16 pm UTC

Oh! Priorities, is it? I'm glad lording yourself over your students is one of your priorities, Professor! I reckon we should all stop helping with this stuff from the attack since we're all useless cowards.

(parent)
finch_fletchley @ 2003-06-28 07:37 pm UTC

(parent)
wehaveseven @ 2003-06-28 07:34 pm UTC

My children will never be at his mercy, Remus. Not while I'm around. I'd ask you to leave the lot of them alone on this matter.
