Well. Today certainly didn't go as planned.
Remus was finally well enough to travel, so Harry and I took him back to the house for the weekend. I was really looking forward to spending a few days, just the three of us, like a real family. None of us really knows what that means, but I wanted to try.
I took Remus on my broom with me since he wasn't coordinated enough yet to control his own. Not that I minded holding him close...
We got to the house without event. But then it all went to hell.
Remus had told me that he'd invited Mrs. Malfoy to stay if she needed a place to go. I've been out of the loop, having spent most of the last few days in the hospital wing with Remus, and Poppy won't let a computer in there. So apparently there's been some issue with her and Lucius. Not surprising.
What I didn't expect was that the woman would move in instantly.
And redecorate.
Remus and I haven't even had a chance to make it our home yet, and she's making it hers. There are chintz curtains. I didn't even know what chintz was until now.
And POTPOURRI in the loo.
The house stinks of vodka.
Well, at least Harry is here. We got Remus tucked up in bed, then I thought it might be a bit of fun to romp a bit as Padfoot. So I transformed, and jumped on Harry, and we had a great time wrestling around the house and generally making a nuisance of ourselves. I believe the house-elves were a bit put out. But if I remember one thing about my childhood, it's the fun of playing with a dog. I think Harry enjoyed himself.
I think Harry and I will go out flying a great deal, just to get away from all the chintz.
At least I'm sure that Narcissa would go nowhere near the kitchen; even though I'm a vegetarian I do love to cook all sorts of things.
Though Remus says it looks like tornado has hit the kitchen when I'm finished. Well, you can't have everything.
I think Remus is stirring. I need to bring him some more of his favourite tea.

Er. Actually, the potpourri I put there, love. I thought it was nice.
Cheers for the tea. Nobody makes it properly but you.

For Merlin's sake, Remus. You're more of a girl than I thought. Potpourri?
And don't think your compliments on my tea-making skills will soothe the savage beast. I am still quite annoyed with the whole situation. How long will she be here?

Well it's a better smell in the bath than wet dog.
Come now, Sirius. I know it's... difficult to adjust to having a woman in the house but she's got nowhere else to go. I don't think she will be here long. She just needs a little time.
Patience, my love.

You know full well that patience was never my long suit.
Nor do I smell like a wet dog.
You, however, could use a bath. I volunteer to wash your back. I'll behave, I promise.

You have your moments, dear Padfoot.
And I could use a little scrub, I think. Harry's off somewhere on his broom so we've a bit of time.
Help me wash up and I'll give you your wedding present a bit early, how's that?

Not that sort of present, you. I can hardly move.
Bath first. Then we find Harry, and then you get your present. I think you'll like it. I hope you do.

Oh. I thought it might have been similar to the one I'd given you. Pity.
I'll go run the bath, then.
