Sirius got a new motorcycle last week, so he took me out for a ride on Friday. It was alot of fun, even if he didn't wear a helmet and made me wear one, and it would be really fun to own one. We flew over the Quidditch pitch, and no matter what Snape thinks, we weren't trying to show off. It was just really cool.
The Lantern Festival is coming up, so I guess I'm going to go to that. It should be pretty fun, I think. I'd like to see Mr and Mrs Weasley, and Fred and George, too. Percy is coming, too, I think. I guess it will be a pretty big crowd. Ron and Hermione and I are going to work on our paper lanterns tomorrow. I don't really want to enter the contest, but Professor Sinistra said we have to, so we're going to work on those.
Then I'm going to go to Quidditch practise, because Evan scheduled one for tomorrow night, so I'll be doing that. Natalie has the flu right now, so I guess we're going to have to practise with two Chasers. I hope she gets better soon. We play Hufflepuff in a couple weeks, so Evan has been having practises alot more lately. Natalie is really good, though, so I think it's okay if she misses some. Ron thinks we don't need to practise so much, but sometimes Hermione comes and watches, and then he doesn't mind, really.
And now I'm going to go play a game of Gobstones with Dean, because he isn't mad at me for getting detention from Snape.

Oh, right, Potter. I'm sure you didn't mean to show-off. Although, really, there's not much to show off there. I certainly know I wouldn't be proud if my godfather were an ex-criminal who rode a motorcycle. Tell me, what's next? Perhaps a tattoo of a naked woman on his forearm? Oh, wait, it would be a naked man, I suppose. Perhaps some brass knuckles? A wand-chain?

Really, little boy, I thought you were supposed to be marginally more intelligent than your hulking goons. I was innocent, a concept no Malfoy has ever grasped fully.
And I would never sully my skin with tattoos.
Now run off and play with Crabbe and Goyle and leave Harry alone.

Perhaps your skills in literacy were dulled in your time in Azkaban, Professor. I suppose you missed the fact that I referred to you as an ex-criminal, a moniker you cannot deny. Because, in case you had forgotten, until very recently you had been called a criminal.

Actually, the term ex-criminal insinuates that I was a criminal at some point. But I wouldn't expect someone such as yourself to understand the finer points of the language. I don't remember your father being all that intelligent either. Money truly can buy anything.

crim·i·nal adj.
Of, involving, or having the nature of crime: criminal abuse.
Relating to the administration of penal law.
Guilty of crime.
Characteristic of a criminal.
Shameful; disgraceful.
I should think that attempting to have a fellow student killed is rather criminal, isn't it?

Very good, Mr. Malfoy. Snape has trained you well, hasn't he?

After all, he's already got the "leather" trousers. Talk about tacky.

Intending to purchase a motorcycle yourself some day, Potter? Of course, it's only natural that you would want something so trashy. I suppose those are the consequences of being raised by Muggles.

Harry,
I'm looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming Lantern Festival as well. How are your studies coming along? I wish you the best of luck on your paper lantern. If you'd like, I can offer some guides to the proper art of lantern-making. There are some simply fascinating reads on this ancient art.
Fondly,
Percy

Percy,
How are you? I am fine. My schoolwork is going okay. I am looking forward to the Lantern Festival, too. I think I've already got something in mind for my lantern, but thanks for the offer.
Sincerely,
Harry Potter
