I don't want anyone to get detention because of me, no matter what house they're in, so I'm not going to start goofing off all the time just so Slytherin can get more detentions, no matter what anyone thinks. And I do my work. Last night I went over Charms with Hermione, and I guess if you know Hermione you know she wouldn't let her friends fail.

I just got back from Quidditch practise, and I missed breakfast, but Ron brought me some toast and we came to the library so I could update my journal. I don't really have alot of time because I have Potions in a half hour, and if I'm late someone will get detention. Then I'll have to spend two hours in Potions after that, and I don't want to get hexed first thing in the morning. So I'm going to get to Potions early, and maybe then I won't get in so much trouble.

I don't know why everyone thinks Snape is giving out detention because my marks are too low, because they're not. I do okay in my classes, and every time Snape gives out detention it's because I didn't finish my dinner or my glasses had dirt on them. I don't think my Transfiguration marks go down when I decide not to finish my chicken, unless there's something someone's not telling me.

Halloween is in a few weeks, so I hope that will be fun. Unless maybe my costume isn't good enough, and who knows what would happen then.

Now I'm going to go to Potions, because Madam Pince is yelling at Ron about his language. Maybe I'll get lucky and we'll be working on the draught of living death.

Harry,

Your efforts will be appreciated.

Pansy

PS. Happy to hear your grades are not suffering after all. I have no idea where I had gotten that misinformed notion.

Probably from your [info]potterstinks little blond piece of fluff.

No, Malfoy didn't say that, Snape's the one saying it. He keeps saying he's doing this so my marks will improve, but he never punishes anyone because of bad marks, just because I smiled the wrong way or something. So everyone thinks I've got bad marks now.

Harry,

Maybe Professor Snape is just being a trifle sadistic, but even so, he's taking it rather far this time. Oh well, we will survive this, no doubt. After all, there are worse things in life than detention, don't you agree?

Your friend, Hannah

just_harry @ 2002-10-12 04:15 pm UTC

Thanks, Hannah. I know detention isn't the worst, but getting it because of someone else is pretty crummy, and so is having someone else get yours for you. I mean, I guess some people wouldn't mind if everyone else had to serve their detentions, but I don't like it.

Of course I wouldn't let you fail! You didn't need much help from me as it was - your Charms homework only had two things incorrect, and you fixed those straightaway.

Erm... what did Ron say? :/

just_harry @ 2002-10-12 04:10 pm UTC

Er. Well, there was a spider underneath the table and it dropped on Ron's foot. He was kind of, er, alarmed.

Oh. Oh dear.
I really miss Ron. :/

I'm so stuck on my Charms essay. I suppose you've finished yours, haven't you, Hermione?

Re:

*shyly* Yes, I have... did you need some help with yours? Maybe I could give you a few pointers... if you wanted, that is.

Re:

I suppose I could always copy it off you, yeah? Harry and I are thinking of working on it after dinner tonight, you could come and help us cheat.. if you wanted, that is.

Now Ron, you know I won't let you cheat! But I will help you both. I'm sure you'll do just fine.

See you at dinner then?

Yes, that would be good.

I'm worried about Halloween too. I think your costume will be good, Harry. ... What is it?
