6 more days to the Bleu Ball.
A-ha! And the mystery is solved! By none other than me, that's right! With no help at all from anyone; well okay, so maybe Ginny helped a tiny bit, but if not for my pure wit and clever observations the mystery would've never been solved, in just four days, mind you! The only bloody clue she gave me was "It is someone you know", well that isn't very enlightening, is it?! Good thing I had the patience and sense to name and ask every sodding person and their pets. I even resorted to giving Dobby an old pair of earmuffs just to see if he's heard anything but I ended up having to bloody listen to his uh, problems with Winky. There are just some things about house elves that I'll NEVER want to know about and THIS is bloody one of them, honestly!
So anyway, Hermione agreed to go to the ball with me. I told Harry and Ginny about it today. Harry is going with Susan Bones and Fred is taking Ginny; this is going to be wicked fun! Harry's nose is back to normal now, good thing; but he ought to be paying more attention to where he's going lately. Running hard enough into Fat Lady to break his nose; I mean really, no wonder she's been giving us dirty looks all bloody week.
I think Hermione hasn't told anyone yet, I mean; not that I expect her to tell the whole world or anything, but well, I guess- uh, because it's not a big deal. At all. I mean, she did say it was a "date" and all that but maybe, maybe she changed her- well, it doesn't have to be a big deal. Yeah, it's not a big deal really. But Harry asked if we were "a thing" today. I asked him what he meant by "a thing" and he said "nothing". "A thing" can't very well be "nothing", can it? I'm not sure what he meant by "a thing" but it sounds rather nice- I mean, we're friends, best friends, Hermione and I, going to the ball together; not a big deal. It doesn't have to be anything, though I'm thinking maybe it is something, but I don't really know. Well, she is not nothing so she must be something but I'll never ever be bloody sure if this is "a thing" so-
Lovely weather for Quidditch today, ain't it?

Way to go, Ron! We knew you had it in you. You lady killer.

And a thing, generally speaking, is what ever you want it to be, mate. :)

That is STILL not very helpful, Seamus, but thanks anyway. Is Dean going to the ball? I haven't seen him in bloody ages!

I have no idea...I was thinking he might take Patil, you know, but he's been holed up for a few days.

Patil? You're going with Parvati, aren't you? Oh you mean her sister, whatever her name is?

Ronald,
Congratulations on acquiring an intelligent date such as Hermione.
For your help, allow me to explain what a 'thing' is. I had thought you would have known. A thing is an entity, an idea, or a quality perceived, known, or thought to have its own existence. It is also something referred to by a word, a symbol, a sign, or an idea; a referent. In Scandinavian countries, a legislative or judicial assembly; -- used, especially in composition, in titles of such bodies.
In the garden [he] walketh to and fro, And hath his things [i. e., prayers, devotions] said full courteously. --Chaucer.
Hopefully, that will be a bit of rudimentary help.
Love,
Percy

Thanks, Perce, you're as helpful as always but *YAWN*
Oh, hang on, are you and Penelope "a thing" then, hmm Percy?
