Current mood: angry

Talking in the Infirmary
There is no official word yet as to what has happened other than the collapse of a floor in Hogwarts, but the rumours abound. A girl in the bed lying next to me turned to me this morning and asked if I had heard the news that some of the students had been killed. I told her quietly that I had.

"No Slytherins were killed," she said to me.

I told her, "No Ravenclaws were either."

"Yes, but how many Ravenclaws do you know of who became Death Eaters, and how many students from the other houses are the children of them?"

What a hateful thing to say!

She is of the opinion that the cause of the collapse was an attack by Death Eaters. She is of the opinion that we, Slytherins, are also to blame. It is always the same. There were those who accused darling Draco of being at fault when Harry Potter was missing. But he has been found now, hasn't he, and we, Slytherins, wish him a speedy recovery! We do. I do.

I have heard too many theories about what has happened: alien attacks or loosed trolls or Ministry Conspiracy. I believe, as many others, that it is most likely simply due to Hogwarts' age. It was an accident, a terrible, unfortunate accident. Why must some people insist on bringing up Death Eaters and why must they point fingers at the Slytherin house when they say this? Paranoia, I suppose, but aren't we all scared? Why do they insist on blaming us? Even if it was them, we have nothing to do with them.

I hope the truth comes out. I hope she and any others who subscribe to such a theory are proven wrong.

It doesn't matter in any case. There are more important things. I shall go see how Draco is doing and I shall try to find Millicent if Madame Pomfrey lets me.

And has anyone found Blaise Zabini? Blaise, if you are safe somewhere, do speak up and let us all know.

Is Potter there?

He is in the hospital wing with the rest of us injured persons. I am afraid he does not look very well.

He does not need to be awake for them to show him acts of obeissance.

Is he awake or is he not, Pansy.

The entire castle is filled with a wasteful void of paranoid little mongrels who see it fit to blame every single hangnail and split end they receive on the entirety of Slytherin House. Of course, I've actually been attacked for murdering Potter. Considering the fact that Potter isn't even dead, I must have the magical prowess of Merlin since I've evidently been able to both kill him and bring him back from the dead to cover up my own tracks. Why would I kill Potter? Oh, that's right. I'm in Slytherin and naturally since Weasley is such a clever detective, he put two and two together to make three. I suppose they expect there are seventeen-year-old Death Eaters now, as of course You-Know-Who is so strapped for support that he's resorted to having children join his ranks. It's rather a good thing that we bought that clever concealer to cover our Dark Marks before our genius plan went down. Never mind the fact that I certainly didn't know there were Death Eaters involved until Saturday morning.

My Father has always experienced this sort of prejudice in the past, as those without money tend to think those with are the most sinister sort of nightmare monster they can think of. I'm ever so glad to see that Hogwarts enjoys casting stones when they don't have answers. You'll note that Slytherin House hasn't been thick-headed enough to put the blame on anyone else, have we? Yes, I'm certain Nott Apparated all the way to Germany because he was so smug over what was going on. Never mind that a large portion of the injured are Slytherins, of course, who were stampeded in the bloody chaos along with the rest of the students. If Weasley had any decency, his fat mouth would be full of crow right now, but of course there's no need to point this out as naturally it will be considered my fault for existing in the same room as Weasley.

Millicent and I are, of course, far more evil than you, since you got injured in the fray and are slightly exempt. Millicent and I sat in the ceiling, and as we all know ceilings are indicative of Satan.

Now I've to play darts with Nott. Evidently he picked up a set in Germany, as well as an inordinate amount of chocolate. Since we're not welcome to visit the infirmary without getting blamed, I feel darts is my only option.

Yes, well, we must not forget that it is more than likely true that I threw myself down the stairs in order to look less guilty of my complete involvement in this incident. Even though we were all in Professor Binns class while this unfortunate occurance took place, we clearly have the ability to be in more than two places at once, or perhaps we are merely guilty by associating with certain people of whom we do not know the identities. I am not certain of anything, of course, except that we are at fault in this situation.

Really though, Draco darling, I am very sorry that Ron Weasley gave you trouble. When I heard that he'd attacked you, I was quite horrified you can imagine.

As we all know, if we combine your intials, mine and Millicent's, you can create the acronym Purely Murderous; Don't Be Placated, Men. I think that's all the evidence we need.
