New Beginnings
My last journal is gone - destroyed in a fit of anger. It's almost sad, as if with its disappearance there has also been some part of me lost, that part that poured out all those words and felt all those emotions.

And yet it's terribly fitting.

I've been sent off to France. Treated like nothing more than a discarded toy somebody has grown too old for. A playmate no more but a stranger cast on the sidelines. Mother says to leave the past in the past, and that I can start a whole new life here. What she doesn't say is that she's happy I'm once again out of her hair.

I arrived in Paris at 11 pm yesterday and took a train to Beauxbatons. I've been here less than twenty four hours and already I hate it. All these snobby french girls who smell of heavy perfume and sweat and stink up the hallways. They don't even need to talk behind my back. My french has never been good, and they merely use their slang to deface me while I'm standing beside them.

Ici il y a un garcon avec les cheveux blonds et les yeux pâles. Il me rappelle une autre mais...

I won't be sorry. I'm too good for that. I was only stupid enough to spread gossip in such a manner that it was obvious it was me.

Miss Parkinson, might I suggest that, instead of seeking to improve your cunning, you spend this time at Beaubaxtons in quiet reflection and atonement for your actions?

You might also ask for advice in grooming, appearance, and comportment. While your user photograph gives me hope that you have toned down your darque tendencies, I would be disappointed to witness a return to your previous- I believe the term is 'Gothic'- persona.

Remain always stout of heart and clear of mind.

How convenient of you to show interest in someone after they no longer attend your school.

Miss Parkinson-

Surely you must understand that I am not at liberty to take a personal interest in the manaeuverings of Slytherin House. Such imprudent action would present a clear conflict of interest.

As to my actions as Deputy Headmistress, my conscience is clear. Obviously, a change of scenery was needed, and such was provided to you. Again, I encourage you to spend your time at Beaubaxtons in pursuits designed to improve both your moral character and impulse control. I am, of course, available to all students at any time, given it does not conflict with conditions within one's House.

Why Minerva,

Surely all children deserve equal attention regardless of what house they belong to. I am most surprised that you, being Deputy Headmistress, would admit to blatant favortism to your house. And you say that I'm unreasonable. Tsk tsk.

Professor Snape-

I suppose you would have preferred I interfere in the disciplinary actions taken on behalf of Miss Parkinson? Come now- surely we both know differently.

Your insinuation that I favour my own House wounds me. I will remain annoyed with you for the next five hours and thirty-six minutes in lieu of taking House Points.

Minerva,

If I had a knut for everytime you've been irritated with my pointing out your shortcomings in the debate department, I would have 15 Galleons, 7 Sickles and 2 Knuts.

Professor Snape-

I will remind you that your incomprehensible nitpicking of both my motivations and my honour has denied you seventeen days, twenty-three hours, and nine minutes of my time. Most of that in just the past month.

Please do leave off this absurd heckling. Would you care to stop by for a hot chocolate in just over five hours?
