The Boys Are Back In Town
Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home.

Greece was lovely. I'd never been and neither had Sirius, and it was one of the things we'd talked about once as schoolboys, so it was wonderful to have finally made it. We of course did the tourist bits, Athens and such, but it wasn't until we went to the island of Delos that we truly felt we'd gotten away from it all.

Muggles cannot remain overnight on Delos, which meant it was very quiet and without a lot of the fussy acoutrements that the Muggle world relies on, but Sirius and I were privy to a tiny wizard's cottage high upon Mt Kythnos overlooking the Agean. That let us stay after the tourists had gone, and we had the island to ourselves.

Our last night there was a mad storm, and rather than shut ourselves away from it we threw open every window and door in the place and let the rain come in. Thunder and lightning, the whole works, and at the height of it all we made love on the balcony looking out over the island, and it was bloody brilliant. We weathered the storm and were still standing on the other side, and it seemed very apropos all things considered.

Yes, a lovely honeymoon was had by all.

But now we're home, and we have many useless trinkets with us that we picked up for everyone. I'm certain the Headmaster will enjoy this bust of Aristotle I found that is bewitched to chat with you about pretty much anything. For our students and the rest of the staff we found an enormous amount of Greek sweets and strange little snacks that they might find interesting, there's some ouzo for Sinistra and Hooch of course, and for Harry Sirius found a very nice Quidditch jersey for the Heraklion Heroes, and from me an enchanted carving of an ancient Greek chariot race - a different winner every time.

Now comes the daunting task of unpacking, and getting settled back into the swing of things, and wondering what on earth went on at home while we were away. Harry? What're these marks in the wood? Dare I ask?

I am off, to find my wayward spouse and the boy, for some quality family time. I believe it will involve tickling. Yes.

Just water. I spilled and didn't get it cleaned up in time. I'm sorry!

Can I come over later today? Is that okay?

No worries, love. We'll get it cleaned up. I'm curious about the water but I don't think I want to know.

You certainly may come over later! I insist. Sirius is cooking dinner tonight, authentic Greek - he took to the fare like a kelpie to water, so come home hungry.

Missed you.

Remus,

I am pleased that you are back at Dogear Wryde. It sounds as if your honeymoon was absolutely lovely. After a great deal of thought on my part, I have decided that it is time to return to the Manor and make things a go with Lucius again. Thank you and Sirius both for your hospitality and I hope to see you today before I leave.

Well, I wish you the best of luck, my dear. I suppose I don't have to tell you I have my reservations on you going back, but it's your decision and I trust your judgement. It will of course be quiet around here without you, but you are welcome back any time you like.

Do you need help packing? I'm not busy.

Remus,

Rest assured that I did think long and hard before concluding that it was time for me to return to the Manor. I greatly enjoyed my time at Dogear Wryde and I certainly will come back to visit with you. I apologize for not responding earlier but I was in the midst of packing my things. When I was preparing to leave Dacey informed me that you were in the midst of tea and, as I did not wish to disturb you, I quietly departed for the Manor. So far things are fine here. One might even say more than fine as Lucius has said several things which have given me hope that we shall become better in dealing with all aspects of our family together.
