Ah, well. The wedding is over, although I daresay the aftermath won't be for a long time. Damn Weasleys. It goes to show what a deft hand Arthur is at discipline, since he cannot seem to raise children that are any more well-behaved than a pack of monkeys on hallucinogens, although I will say that Virginia seems to know her place.

I do so regret that the marriage certificate I produced during the wedding was a fake. It certainly seemed real to me, and given Sirius' past, quite in keeping with his character. Dumbledore did say "If anyone has reason why these two should not be wed..." and I could not sit idly by and let a marriage occur under dishonest circumstances, could I? Had Remus not forbidden me to contact Sirius in anyway, I would have discussed the matter with him prior to last night's festivities. Severus, of course, saved the day with Veritaserum and the document was subsequently revealed to be false. However, watching Sirius and Remus exchange their vows while under the influence of the serum (Remus, in fairness, took a dose as well) was quite touching. It put me in mind of my wedding to Narcissa, all those years ago. However, the Weasley hooligans then felt it necessary to spike the punch with the serum and I anticipate that we'll all be recovering from the effects for a time as yet undetermined. We were none of us ourselves last night. I'm tempted to look into an obliviate charm.

I spent the night at the guest house at Dogear Wyrde with Narcissa. It's quite adequate, and Narcissa and I do enjoy roughing it now and then. We spent a most pleasant evening together, and I am just now back at the Manor. She does look so alluring in her schoolgirl uniform.

I will say that I am most pleased by Draco. He turned last night's unfortunate incidents to his advantage, showing great cunning, and then was most discreet regarding some family history that I related to him while under the serum's effects. He is a credit to his parents.

I am meeting with a private investigator tomorrow on Narcissa's behalf, as I know how concerned she must be as to the identity of her real parents. I would love her were she pureblood or not, of course, but I welcome this opportunity to answer what must be, for her, a very nagging concern.

I am resting today as I have urgent business come the morrow. It's been quite a weekend.

Father,

Of course, I certainly didn't intend to have any Family secrets exposed when I asked those questions to you. I was actually just trying to seize the momentum to get answers to questions I've been curious about for some time. I'm certain you can see why I was curious. Since I was unaware what the answers would be, I wouldn't have asked publicly if I'd known them in advance.

Your pride and joy,
Draco
