Dear Parents,

Please understand that the headmaster and myself are fully aware that you wish desperately to see your children. However, it is imperative that you do not enter Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry until we have made certain that all damage done to the North Wing and in particular the Charms corridor has been cleared and repaired. A sense of order is crucial to this process. We do not wish to tell you not to worry about your children. Now that the magical connection service has been rehabilitated, we hope to use this medium as a quick method of communication during this time. I will not beat around the bush. Many of your children are missing. However, please be aware that there is an entire wing of the castle which is at this time being excavated. Your children's safety has not been in question at Hogwarts before now and we are working fastidiously to ensure that it will not be again. The Apparation wards have been repaired. Please do not attempt to Apparate into Hogwarts.

If your child's name is on this list, please do not panic. Try to remain calm. If your child has been injured please note that a list of injuries has been given to help with as little panic as possible.

If anyone knows the last whereabouts of any of the following students, please give us any and all information that you can.

Students have been released from the Great Hall but are reminded that the North Wing is strictly out of bounds. Please do not panic. We are doing everything we can.

Please watch this post for updates. * denotes change.

Michael left DADA to go get something from the library about ten minutes before.

Turpin, Corner has just been found hiding in the bottom shelf of one of the stacks in the Restricted Section. He is on his way to Ravenclaw Tower presently.

Mr Weasley! The North Wing is currently being excavated, as it has been for the entirety of the day. You would be putting yourself into great danger by attempting to enter it. You are not, under any remote circumstances, to put one toe, hair, foot, finger or EYELASH in the North Wing. The consequences will be dire. Do you understand me?

Draco darling,

Are you alright?!?

I'm in Hogsmeade and I'm terribly worried and I'll be there as soon as the parents are allowed to gain entrance to the school.

I love you.

Mother

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-06-23 04:43 pm UTC

Mother, I'm perfectly fine. Millicent and I found a suitable place to take cover and then Weasley attacked me when Professor Sinistra dragged us to the Great Hall. No one knows what's going on and it's rather dissatsifying.

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-06-23 04:46 pm UTC

My Little Dragon,

I'm so very relieved to hear that you are alive and well. I've been in such a terrible state for Merlin only knows how long now. There are other parents milling about Hogsmeade and none of us really know anything. It's terribly frustrating and I just simply want to see you for myself.

Love,
Mother

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-06-23 04:51 pm UTC

Mother,

I don't know what's going on, I haven't showered for three days and no one bothered to inform me the Apparation wards were down until they'd gone back up. Otherwise I would have Apparated to the Manor immediately for my own safety. Of course, I haven't my licence yet but I feel that since I'm seventeen and of age, this should have been considered perfectly acceptable in a moment of crisis. Millicent and I used an Anti-Gravity Charm and stayed in the ceiling in the History of Magic classroom, but unfortunately, we were left rather alone as no one seemed to realise we were there. Half the students are missing and don't let's forget the fact that there are large portions of the castle sitting in a pile of rubble. I rather think we're doomed.

Yours sincerely,
Draco

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-06-23 05:07 pm UTC

My darling son,

You haven't been able to shower for three days? My poor ickle Drakie-do! Won't you be able to leave and return to the Manor shortly? I would have been so happy had you managed to apparate home. I know you do not have your license as of yet but you are a Malfoy and Mummy's clever boy. I am sure you could have managed to do it without a problem. You and Miss Bulstrode certainly were smart to stay out of the fray or whatever it was that transpired in the school. However, I am very disturbed that no one noticed a Malfoy was missing. You ought to be their top priority, dearest. I can't wait to see you.

Love,
Mother

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-06-23 05:19 pm UTC

Mother,

The entirety of the school was jammed into the Great Hall for three days with nothing but a batch of plush violet sleeping bags at our disposal. We had to eat while sitting on the floor. Weasley continuously accuses me of having murdered Potter and Potter isn't even dead and I certainly didn't murder him as he's not dead so I think Weasley ought to be hanged.

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-06-23 05:24 pm UTC

My Little Dragon,

Plush sleeping bags? They could not even think to accomodate you with something more comfortable such as ermine or satin? In a time of crisis it is imperative to make oneself as comfortable as possible. I do not see what 'they' were thinking when they conjured up something abysmally plush for my child to rest upon with the rest of the population of the school in such close quarters.

Eating while sitting on the floor is very Eastern, darling. According to Madame Slovena's Style column in WitchHazel Bazar, Eastern is in.

I know you didn't murder Harry, darling. Mr. Weasley is simply overreacting out of fear and worry for his friend. Do not let his childish, barbaric ways upset you.

Love,
Mother

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-06-23 05:38 pm UTC

I want you to come home. Do you think I shall be allowed to come up from Hogsmeade soon, darling? We could return to the Manor together.

Love,
Mother

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-06-23 05:42 pm UTC

I've no idea, as they won't tell us anything. They're currently excavating the North Wing, so I expect they're trying to prevent panic and disorder by keeping the parents at bay. I, however, find this entirely disorganised. Also, Weasley called me a Death Eater.

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-06-23 05:47 pm UTC

Darling,

If they tell the parents anything useful I shall let you know posthaste. Will you do the same for me, Draco?

Mr. Weasley clearly has some mental impacitation that prevents him from forming coherent, rational thought. It is our duty as upstanding citizens and role models for the masses that we Malfoys try to overlook such mad utterances from those who simply cannot understand right from wrong and that drooling on oneself is not an acceptable pasttime.

Love,
Mother

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-06-23 05:54 pm UTC

Of course, Mother.

He won't leave me alone and I was asleep in History of Magic when it happened and anyway, Potter was perfectly fine the last time I saw him, so wouldn't I have done him in then if I was planning to have him rubbed out?

I've to shower. I'll see you soon, I hope.

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-06-23 05:57 pm UTC

I won't pretend to understand how that boy's mind functions. All I know is that you would never do anything like that. Besides, you've brought up very valid points.

I'll see you just as soon as I'm allowed to come to Hogwarts, dear.

I have done nothing to Harry. Rather than pester me, wouldn't your beloved Mr. Potter be better served by your efforts to actually find him, rather than cast aspersions you know to be patently inaccurate?

Father,

Weasley attacked me! He broke my nose. Again. This is the third time my nose has been broken in a year. I would, of course, return to the Manor if not for the fact that we have been banned from blinking the wrong way lest the entire castle collapse on us. There are mediwizards all over the place, as everyone and their toad has been injured, Mother's in a state in Hogsmeade and I want to go home.

Re:

You may come to the Manor at any time once you are free to do so. Your mother is in Hogsmeade but we are in contact by owl. I do think, once this is over, we should take you to a plastics mediwizards to ensure that your nose remains in its usual aquiline state.

As for Mr. Weasley, I will see to it that he learns the consequences of his conduct.

Your Father

Thank you, Father. I'm certain he'll suck it up and apologise when Potter re-appears soon.

I am not sure, in his case, that an apology is all that's warranted.

WHERE'S PERCY??? AND MY DAD?? ARE THEY ALRIGHT???

pennyclearwater @ 2003-06-23 06:00 pm UTC

Ron, Percy and Arthur are just fine. Don't worry about us here, we're all fine. Percy's with your mum in the kitchen, and Fred and George are here, too, and Arthur went back to London to see if there was any way he could help. Just worry about you, and make certain you and your sister stay safe, all right? Is Ginny okay?

Re:

PENELOPE!!!!!!!!! Oh thank everything in the bloody world

Everyone alright there? Gin's fine!! I kind of stuck her to my sleeve when I saw her, not going anywhere this one! Percy alright? Mum and dad? Fred and George?? Where's dad going???

(parent)
pennyclearwater @ 2003-06-23 06:16 pm UTC

Everyone's fine. Percy-- well, Percy hurt his hand, but it's nothing, Ron, and he'll be fine. The rest of us are just fine. Ron, you have to stay calm. Your mother is worried enough as it is. They'll take care of things, I know they will. I know they're doing their best. You just take care of Ginny-- that's your job, all right? Just make certain Ginny stays safe.

Perce hurt his hand?! How?? What happened?? Tell mum not to worry!! Ginny's safe with me! What happened to Percy's hand???

(parent)
pennyclearwater @ 2003-06-23 06:26 pm UTC

He's really fine. You know his temper, Ron-- as if we didn't have enough to worry about here as it is. There's a hole in the wall now not quite as big as that hole in his head out of which his brains must have rolled. He's just fine.

He hit his HEAD TOO?!?!

pennyclearwater @ 2003-06-23 06:34 pm UTC

Oh, no! I'm sorry-- that's an unfortunate figure of speech. No, he's just worried, and he took his worry out on the kitchen wall. You all are so much alike sometimes that I don't know how Molly manages to keep you all in one piece.

Now really, Penelope, I do not feel that was entirely called for. I confess my temper is irrational; however, it would be quite impossible for me to be typing this particular message if my brains were not in tact.

Morgan Mullarkey says Cormorant Jones was wearing a red hat; Cormorant is his cousin, so he's rather worried.

Please inform Mullarkey that his cousin is in hospital. A broken tibia and a bit badly shaken up, but nothing our Healers can't fix.

Something else maybe you could do

When you're done talking to Penelope, I mean. Why don't you go to the owlery and check on Hedwig? Most of the owls that got scared and flew away from all the noise on Friday morning are back, and I think Professor Lupin had asked for some help looking after the ones that belong to the missing students. I'm sure Harry would appreciate it when he comes back if someone remembered to give her an owl treat or two while he was gone. I'd do it, but since I don't have an owl, I don't have any owl treats, and besides, I still have a huge stack of herbs to slice up for Madam Pomfrey.

(Brilliant cosh, by the way, that you gave Malfoy. I quite liked the way his nose looked by the time you were done with it. Pity that Madam Pomfrey fixed it so quickly.)

Creevey's that weird kid with the car, isn't he? That one who thought he could waltz on into Hufflepuff? I saw him around here after the incident.

sinistra @ 2003-06-23 06:49 pm UTC

What excellent attention to detail, Mr Macmillan. Colin would indeed be that weird kid with the car. And I know I saw him on Friday, too. He was looking for his brother, I believe.

Dennis Creevey is here, though, but there is still no sign of Colin.

Creevey was present for at least one role call in the Great Hall before disappearing.

Professor? I'm sorry to bother you 'cos I know you're really busy looking for everyone that's missing. It's only that Soblessa Spriggs left class to go get her homework she left in Gryffindor Tower just before everything happened. I know you have to cut through the Charms corridor going from Muggle Studies back to Gryffindor but I don't reckon she could have been in the North wing at all 'cos she was supposed to hurry and she was gone for a long time. I bet she's found a clever hiding place. I'm sure of it. Are there places I could be looking for her?

scotchtartan @ 2003-06-23 08:46 pm UTC

If you know where Ms Spriggs might have hidden, please feel free to suggest them. However, for your own safety I must warn you that any students wishing to enter the North Wing will be dealing with Professor Lupin and Professor Sinistra.

(parent)
blushcrush @ 2003-06-23 09:02 pm UTC

Is it all right if I have a look round Gryffindor Tower one more time? I know it's been searched but she might be too scared to come out. I could try calling for her. I'm sure she's here somewhere.
