Meditations Interrupted
This morning, I was interrupted in my meditations on the state of my crystal ball (cracked, irreparably I believe) by our dearest Headmaster. I fear my powers may be on the wane due to the loss of my most beloved instrument; I must order another immediately, as I saw nothing of his arrival! In any case, he has informed me that as a Hogwarts professor, it is my duty to "condescend to speak with the doomed ones on occasion" and post in this journal. I am doing so, however, not because of any feelings of professorly duty, but rather because I have had quite a soft spot for that poor old man ever since I discovered that he was doomed to die by choking on a vomit-flavored Every Flavor Bean.
Unfortunately, I have no prophecy to bestow upon you this evening (or is it morning?), as I have only just awoken from the trance into which I lapsed after he left me. I fear that I may have uttered words of power, and none heard them!!!
I must see about placing Recording Charms upon my rooms to prevent such a tragedy from occurring again!!

You poor dear, I was just about to owl you! It has been simply eons since we have last spoke and I do enjoy our conversations ever so much. Lucius, Draco, and I are in the midst of planning our mini-holiday but I should like to see you if you have the time.

But of course I have the time, Narcissa! I made a special point to clear my schedule when I Foresaw that you would be contacting me! (The tea leaves are, fortunately, working as they always have; my distress over the state of that crystal ball seems not to have effected them). I also Foresaw that you would be avaliable tomorrow afternoon - but I did not, unfortunately, See where.

As a matter of fact I am free tomorrow afternoon. I shall be in Hogsmeade dropping Echo off to be groomed and will have approximately two hours during which we could spend a bit of time together. Are you available after half-one?

Oh! And be most careful of your attire! I Foresee that if you wear a light color, your clothing shall be sullied before you reach me! Not that I would think you sloppy or slovenly, as I know that we cannot change our fates, but I supposed you would like a warning.
