Current mood:enraged

I can't help noticing that since Potter's socks have gone missing, everyone and their very own pet has offered him a pair of socks. And yet, no one offered any to me. EXCEPT, OF COURSE, FOR FINNIGAN. How polite.

lupercus @ 2003-11-08 12:37 am UTC

Would you like some socks, Draco?

potterstinks @ 2003-11-08 12:39 am UTC

Are they yours?

(parent)
lupercus @ 2003-11-08 12:48 am UTC

Seeing as how they reside in my bureau I should hope so. Some of them may belong to Professor Black, however. Or Harry. We've all the same sized feet.

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-11-08 12:53 am UTC

Oh, I've already got some of Potter's socks. In fact, I'm quite set.

(parent)
lupercus @ 2003-11-08 12:59 am UTC

That's good then. One should never be without socks.

Any suspects yet?

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-11-08 01:09 am UTC

I've narrowed the list down to about 994 out of 1,000.

(parent)
lupercus @ 2003-11-08 01:11 am UTC

That's very methodical of you. You should know whodunnit by spring.

Perhaps we could train a Niffler to niffle out your socks for you.

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-11-08 06:35 am UTC

Now Remus, don't be unkind. You know as well as I that nifflers do not niffle socks, shiny or not! (Unless, of course, you have managed to discover a new type of nifflers that do so.) Do stop teasing Draco, won't you?

By the by, if you happen to know the precise address for the mother of Miss Cho Chang, could you possibly owl that information to me? I had owled her some time ago in regards to the status of Dacey and requested that she send my house elf back to the Manor but I have not had a reply and should like to confirm her whereabouts.

Narcissa

(parent)
lupercus @ 2003-11-08 10:43 am UTC

I do apologise, Narcissa. Seeing the humour in a situation has long since been my preferred coping method. I wouldn't be surprised, however, if we could train up a Niffler properly. Draco's welcome to try it. I'd even consider it for extra credit.

As far as I remember, the Changs live above the Quill shop on Diagon Alley. I'll send off an owl myself and see if I can't raise them for you. You do need your house-elf back.

I hope you're well.

-Remus

blondenarcissa @ 2003-11-08 12:41 am UTC

Draco,

Do you mean to tell me that you have not yet successfully received ONE parcel of socks that I have sent you?

Disturbed,
Mother

potterstinks @ 2003-11-08 12:49 am UTC

Mother,

Thankfully, I received them. However, I don't quite understand why everyone's offering socks to Potter just because I happened to borrow a few pair. No one in this castle offered any to me, short of Pansy and Finnigan.

(parent)
blondenarcissa @ 2003-11-08 12:53 am UTC

Draco,

Perhaps you did not receive as many offers as Harry because everyone knows you shall never want of money or parents who strive to ensure that you have life's every necessity while Harry has spent most of his life in the completely opposite manner as yourself.

Love,
Mother

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-11-08 12:56 am UTC

You're right, of course, Mother. I'm not quite as misfortunate as others.

(parent)

Your Father

potterstinks @ 2003-11-08 12:47 am UTC

I received them, Father, but since I've borrowed from Potter, he's had several offers. This is heinously unfair.

(parent)
purestblood @ 2003-11-08 12:51 am UTC

If you received them, you should have no need to partake of Mr. Potter's socks or, indeed, any item of clothing that might be unlucky enough to reside in his wardrobe. Flannel is only for lumberjacks, son. You would do well to remember this.

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-11-08 12:55 am UTC

You're right, of course. I borrowed socks from Potter before the socks from you arrived, of course. Otherwise, I'd not have been driven to such drastic measures. Crabbe's and Goyle's socks were far too horrific to think about.

Re: Hey Malfoy

This site is provided by the Noel Coward Society, an association founded to celebrate the life and work of Noël Coward.

Membership of the Society gives access to a comprehensive onsite archive of information and opinion relating to 'the Master' and back copies of HOME CHAT the Society's printed newsletter, sent regularly to members.

The Society arranges meetings on Coward subjects and organises theatre visits, often at reduced prices, with interval drinks and pre-show suppers.

Members receive substantial discounts on a range of Coward books and CDs that are listed on the site.

They have email access to a range of historians, writers and enthusiasts who can provide help on queries about Noel Coward, his work and his contemporaries.

Of course. This explains everything.

Re: Hey Malfoy

Noel Coward was an erudite, cultured gay man of the 1930s who wrote witty plays and songs about romance among the British upper classes. I was making the point that just because I am gay doesn't mean I don't reserve the right to be uncouth whenever I bloody well choose. And I do not talk about him all the time, but whatever with you, my head is starting to hurt.

Oh, Crabbe doesn't respond with sarcasm. Nor Nott, for that matter. Really it's just Millicent and me. I just happen to be sharp-witted.

Impressed, I'm sure. Tomorrow I was rather hoping to conquer a small European country, but I'm keeping it loose.

That sounds like a great deal of work, unless you're going for Andorra. Good skiing in Andorra, but surely we can find something better to do than that.

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-11-08 07:08 pm UTC
Re: Hey Malfoy

Nott's rather odd. A few weeks ago he started going by 'Ted' and Spellotaped screws to parchment and left them all over the place. He's nixed the 'Ted', but I don't know about the rest of it.

What, exactly, do you propose? It seems that without me, the entirety of Hogwarts would have nothing to do. Potter and Weasley can't even play chess without bringing me along.

seamus_f @ 2003-11-08 07:43 pm UTC
Re: Hey Malfoy

I freely admit to only being capable of one big idea a month, and I really don't feel like going back to Dublin unless someone has a reliable timepiece of some sort. Skiing actually doesn't sound like a terrible idea, come to think of it, though I'm not sure where there is snow at a reasonable distance. I dunno, what would you like to do?

We can always bring Ron and Harry unless they want some alone time.

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-11-08 08:24 pm UTC

I've no idea. I don't know what you people do. I'm not spending time with Weasley. I played chess with him and he kept spitting on my face when he unfairly yelled at me over the board. Also, his chess pieces were cowering in fear of his violence, which ought to tell you something.

(parent)
seamus_f @ 2003-11-08 08:43 pm UTC

I don't think you can say for sure what they were afraid of. Anyway, no, he doesn't have to be there. I see a good deal of him, actually.

(parent)
potterstinks @ 2003-11-08 09:01 pm UTC

Given that they were huddling behind my pieces and staring up at him in fear, I'd say it was him. He was smashing them so hard they were breaking themselves. I'm quite certain he'd admit to it.

You could always turn into a horse and Potter and I could poke you with sticks.

(parent)
