Snape and I have been apologising to the staff and students all week, with varying (though light) degrees of sincerity, but now I would like to say in complete earnest that I'm sorry that students were involved in yesterday's battle.

As punishment to our involving most of the upper years in our fight, the two of us were handcuffed together for the duration of the trip to Hogsmeade today. I couldn't even see Remus alone. (I would've liked to have had the proper tour of the bookstore, Remus! I'm apologising to you, too.) As it was, though, missing the tour and being wandless and spending the day literally chained to Snape was almost...well, it was almost worth the horror. Really, I would hate to have missed by far the most touching and heartfelt moment of Love Your Neighbour Week, which occurred before we even left the hospital wing.

That would be, in case you were curious, the awkward, grudging, dare-I-say-enraged hug between Severus Snape and Draco Malfoy. I wish the whole school had been witness to it, because if everyone had seen it, they'd be in as good a mood as I am in now. Who needs cheering charms when you've got overt misanthropy to keep you warm?

And I think I should also note that Snape and I will not be posting our questionnaires, which burst into flames this morning in the infirmary. I don't think Dumbledore thinks we have much to say about brotherhood. Or our partners.
