Concerning Pettigrew
Right, I just have one or two things to say before I clear off. I wouldn't bother, because of course everyone has lots of things to worry about, but I've seen some information posted here that needs to be corrected, and it's important that I set things straight immediately.
Any rats who're running about without toes, they're not rats you particularly have to worry about. This is because on the final evening of the 1994-1995 Triwizard Tournament, Peter Pettigrew severed his own right hand--i.e., the hand missing a finger--at the wrist, and used it as part of the magical ritual which brought Voldemort back to life. The missing hand was then replaced with an enchanted silver replica; the prosthesis is superhuman in strength, and will be obvious to anyone encountering Pettigrew in rat form or as a human. Wizards and witches on the lookout for him need only watch for the silver, or for some sort of glove covering the right hand.
Either way: if you see him, avoid him at all costs and contact the authorities. A sniveling coward with a superspecies appendage and a desire to serve his master is not someone you want to tangle with under any circumstances whatsoever.

Nonsense, Harry. The Ministry has made it quite clear that Pettigrew's rat form is missing a toe, so he must, in fact, be missing a toe.

Percy, although the Ministry is in many ways an admirable institution, it doesn't always have its facts entirely straight. Consider Hagrid, in Azkaban for a crime he didn't commit.

Well! Hagrid's imprisonment in early 1993 was unfortunate, but also quite necessary at the time, as he was considered a threat. The Ministry of Magic cannot be faulted for the course of that year.
While I do understand that your own imprisonment was troublesome, the Ministry has certainly rectified things now! We are able to admit our mistakes!

I urge you to reconsider. This will no doubt confuse those who are not intimately involved with this case; in fact, perhaps it is your own closeness that muddles your mind. It is to be understood, but the Ministry is quite clear on one thing: Pettigrew's rat form is missing a toe.
