I am happy to announce that I have finally been released from the hospital wing. It's a good thing, as I was about to lose what is left of my mind. I have had enough of resting. I have had enough of taking it easy. I have had enough.
First of all, I am sorry to have caused anyone distress. Especially you, Harry.
I wish to thank everyone who sent cards or gifts or positive thoughts my way. The gift of a mirror and brush was most appreciated, even if it was a dog brush. Those are actually the best for my hair. The flea collar was unnecessary, however, and sent Poppy into paroxysms of angst that anyone would suggest that her hospital harbored pests.
Though I was allowed few visitors (this was not at my behest, I assure you) I do appreciate your efforts. At the very least I had Ron to talk to, and Remus made sure Harry got in finally. The games of chess helped relieve the boredom, even if playing with Remus isn't much of a challenge for even a recently comatose man. Mr. Weasley, on the other hand, is quite another matter. He is a top-notch player and I believe has been coaching Remus on the sly. Remus even managed to smuggle in some vegetarian lasagna for me. Hospital food is dreadful and I doubt Poppy has ever heard of a herbivorous canine.
And finally: I believe I owe a great deal of thanks, and most likely, my life, to Professor Snape. Hard though it is to admit it. Though the man has the bedside manner of a brick.

Sirius! Welcome back! Professor Lupin wants me to tell you that I didn't help him with chess.
jadedsirius @ 2002-09-07 07:23 pm UTC |
Thanks, Ron. I trust you're recovered as well? And Remus is not being truthful, I know him far too well.

You could only win by being coached against a man who just regained consciousness, Remus. I wouldn't brag. *grins*

After twenty-odd years of losing, I'll take what I can get.
eloisemidgen @ 2002-09-07 06:29 pm UTC |
Professor Black, you'll be pleased to know that I managed to help Madam Pomfrey untangle the flea collar from her hair - don't let on to her that I understand why you threw it - but I have to admit that I'm not really sure why you had to throw it with an Entanglement Charm. We both feel that the collar should be put to good use, so I've brought it to Professor Sprout - her dogwood seems to have been infested by a plague of biting faeries.
jadedsirius @ 2002-09-07 07:24 pm UTC |
Miss Midgen, I assure I have no idea how the collar ended up in Madame Pomfrey's hair. But I am glad to see it put to use.

I'm just glad you're okay now. I mean, you are totally okay, right? Should you be on the computer?
jadedsirius @ 2002-09-08 12:13 pm UTC |
Madame Pomfrey says I shouldn't be doing anything strenuous, but other than that I'm quite recovered. I am very lucky. Perhaps we can take a walk round the lake together later, so we can talk?
~Sirius
just_harry @ 2002-09-08 07:05 pm UTC |
Yeah, okay, that would be fun. Walking around the lake isn't too strenuous, is it? I mean, there's the giant squid and all. Are you sure you shouldn't be in bed?
(parent)jadedsirius @ 2002-09-09 08:40 am UTC |
I promise not to engage the squid in a wrestling match, Harry.

Thank you, Miss Weasley. I'm feeling much better.

Miss Turpin,
Thank you for your good wishes. I am eager to get back to "normal."
~Sirius
jadedsirius @ 2002-09-08 02:49 pm UTC |
Of course, my dear Remus. And you would know, wouldn't you?
~Sirius
lupercus @ 2002-09-08 03:33 pm UTC |
I shared a dormitory with you for seven years.
I know *exactly* how "normal" you are, Sirius.
And I'm hoping that the book rights will keep me well into retirement.
jadedsirius @ 2002-09-08 03:36 pm UTC |
You wound me, Remus. Of course, I shall claim 50% of the profits.
~Sirius
lupercus @ 2002-09-08 03:56 pm UTC |
Fine, but I reclaim your 50% as restitution for all the times you short-sheeted my bed, replaced my chocolate with Pomfrey's special laxatives, misaligned my record collection, and cheated off my Charms exams.
I should take it out of your hide, really. How is it that I put up with you?
jadedsirius @ 2002-09-08 04:05 pm UTC |
Because I'm your best friend, and I'm devastatingly sexy. Modest, too. And I give a great massage.
~Sirius
lupercus @ 2002-09-08 04:27 pm UTC |
I wouldn't count modesty among your assets, Padfoot.
Thanks for your last night, at any rate. I might not have been very cooperative, but your advice was appreciated.
Of course, you tell anyone about it, and I will kill you and eat you.
deanthomas @ 2002-09-08 06:30 pm UTC |
Hullo, Professor Black! I just wanted to say I'm sorry for not signing your card! I really meant to, I just lost track of things. Glad you're feeling better!
jadedsirius @ 2002-09-08 06:55 pm UTC |
Thanks, Mr. Thomas. I appreciate your thoughts, and I do hope things go better for you in the future. I understand, I really do.

Miss Abbott:
Thank you for your kind words. I look forward to returning to my classes. I do hope the other teachers didn't bore you too much...

I wouldn't know, Professor.
I have been sick the last few days.
