Current mood: bored

How I adore reading the fascinating discourse of my peers in the community. It is not merely enough that I get to read their inspired words themselves-- no, it is infinitely more enthralling when they quote ambiguous poetry.

Certain people ought to just wear 'WE ARE DEEP' badges to match their 'WE ARE EVIL' banners.

Indeed.

Certain people also ought to take a long walk off a short pier, fall into the Lake and drown.

Not that I'd ever suggest such a thing, of course.

I would, but for such certain people death by drowning is too good.

How are you these days, Remus? It seems like we hardly ever chat. Perhaps I'll be at Wherebooks for Diana Prevaleça's visit, as I did enjoy what she had to say about curing nervous habits.

Oddly enough, I've always felt that drowning is the most horrid sort of death. I imagine it's the loss of control and the awareness of what's happening to you, and of course it's a very slow sort of death to undergo.

Of course, as a wise Muggle once said, it's not that I fear death, I just don't want to be around when it happens.

I am well, Xiomara. I apologise for our lapse in conversation, I do find you to be a fascinating creature all the same. Do stop by the bookshop, and I'll see if Madame Prevaleça's is available for an introduction. I myself enjoyed her step-by-step guide to ending nailbiting. I'm going to give that to Harry for his birthday. Or strap copies to his hands.

And yourself?

All the same, it's too fast for people who have caused the deaths of so many others.

You have no need to apologize, of course, but all the same that would be very nice of you to introduce us. I'm sure Sibyll would positively swoon at meeting Diana, as well-- she won't appreciate me saying it, but she was obsessed with her book about gaining credibility through self-confidence-- specifically, positive affirmation statements. (It's very disconcerting to wake up hearing "I am valuable, worthy, and important. I am bright and capable. I am determined and influential. I am assured and authoritative," especially when she'd be saying it looking into her reflection in a tea spoon.)

I'm about as good as anyone else is right now.

Well, I would definitely agree with that sentiment.

Of course I will introduce you - and you may bring Sibyll, though I request she leave the crystal ball at home - to Diana. It sounds as though it would be a lovely experience all around. I am very interested to meet her myself; my only dealings with her thus far have been through owl. She's a very mysterious lady, to say the least. I've never even seen a photograph of her.

I can imagine. You were close to both Charlie and the twins, at least on the Quidditch side of things. I remember, I used to like to watch the two boys fly during tea between lessons, and Charlie...

Well, no one flies quite the way Charlie could fly. He soared.

It is good to talk to you again, Xiomara. Very good, indeed.

Oh, Sibyll's very good about things like that. Plus, I think she's a bit off her crystal ball lately since she offered to See for Filch. Needless to say, his response was not complimentary and involved some statements I'd consider anatomically impossible.

Charlie could have played professionally, you know-- all three of them had the ability.

What happened made everyone angry as well as sad, and that's one of the only things that keeps my spirits up.

What was she thinking, offering to See for Mr Filch? If there's any man I do not wish to See more of, it is that one.

However, I reckon Mrs Norris would provide for a fascinating Read.

Charlie had lofty ambitions, and a dragon fetish. There was no stopping him. When I knew him, he was boundless energy, dragon's breath and flight all bound up in a bright, freckled, redheaded boy. It is impossible to think of him as he is now, knowing him as he was. And yet when I was at St Mungo's, that is what I saw. The fire has gone out, and there'll be no soaring anymore.

I am angry. I also wish to get very, very drunk. I plan to this weekend, but if you're interested in helping an old, rather lopsided soul get an early start, you'll find me in the shop on any given day. There's a bottle of absinthe here with my name on it but should you hand me me a quill, I would add yours.

Goodnight, Xiomara. Be well.

Clearly a badge stating 'WE ARE DEEP' would not match a banner that stated 'WE ARE EVIL.'

onourbrooms @ 2004-04-21 05:01 pm UTC

Oh, Narcissa, with your ability to coordinate fashion, I have no doubts you could pull it off. Look at how well Lucius's cane goes with his tattoo.

blondenarcissa @ 2004-04-21 05:17 pm UTC

I can pull off many things, least of all fashion coordination. Lucius has no tattoo; you must be confusing him with that scarlet hag I have seen you conversing with on Diagon Alley on many occasions.

onourbrooms @ 2004-04-21 05:26 pm UTC

I doubt Severus would appreciate being called a scarlet hag.

Acting oblivious never suited you, Narcissa.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm really turned on right now, Xiomara.

It would appear that, with the above comment, I owe a colleague fifty galleons.

And thirty pieces of silver to go along with that.

And just who is it I'm supposed to have betrayed? I am most curious.
