Current mood:aware

Lupin persists in abominally popping in at each opportunity to offer a hobby that I should be interested in persuing. Yesterday, it was the lute. Today, as I prepared tomorrow's lessons for the Hufflepuff and Slytherin fourth years, he sent an owl suggesting I take up glass-blowing. I do not find his attempts at being charming witty nor charming in the very least. I hardly feel that my valuable time should be squandered on such pitiful attempts at humour.

Detention with Potter Saturday. It was most unfortunate that the careless Mr Potter was seven minutes late and I was forced to extend his two hour detention into a nine hour detention. It is my solemn duty to ensure that Potter is moulded into a healthy human being, and punishment is a necessary part of this. It is especially needed when so many members of the Hogwarts staff insist upon coddling him. He is no longer an infant. Such severe amounts of praise and lax authority can cause lasting effects of which I will not be a part.

That said, Potter is up to something. He may think he can get away with things, but I have my eye on him. He has copied Muggle magazines to offer Mr Malfoy laundering tips, and it has not gone unawares. I fully intend to find out what it is that Potter is doing before he creates more undue damage to this school. The time and effort we have put into ensuring his safety alone is immeasurable, and Potter disregards this at the drop of his hat. I shan't tolerate such disrespect, and I will not see this school being run at Potter's beck and call. I will find out.

Weasley came by this morning and volunteered for detention. While I suspect this may have something to do with Potter's scheming, one must wonder if it is truly likely that these Potter-Weasley-Granger-Weasley-Chang dramatics are all a clever charade in Potter's grand scheme of things. Despite the doubtfulness that the Weasleys have the necessary brains to involve themselves into an affair so complex, it is not so doubtful that Potter could persuade them.

Or perhaps it is time to begin that silver collection.

All this talk of silver is amusing to me.

I daresay the Werewolf Segment may be enlightening even for you, my dear boy.
