Well, at last the dreaded curse that is Valentine's Day is over and the school can remain in its pathetic state. In Potions today, I spotted the Gryffindor Patil eyeing up my Mandrake Root, so naturally I had to report her to Professor Snape. Everyone knows that Mandrake Root is an ingredient in several love potions, and we can't be taking any chances. Professor Snape gave her a detention, and miraculously, neither she nor Brown burst into tears. I suppose the infectious conversation fizzing whizbees have bloated their systems so badly that there's no room for the tears to build up.
I've heard that Potter, Weasel and Granger are off to play Grottle with Black this weekend. I can't think of anything more appropriate. I haven't played Grottle since I was five. Of course, it's charming enough to a five-year-old, though one of the snowmen tried to attack me. Father set him on fire, and that was that.
Since this weekend's a Hogsmeade weekend, everyone in the castle has got some common sense and decided to go to other places instead. Pansy and Millicent, of course, are going to Mother's etiquette form this weekend, so I'll likely end up spending my time working on my studies. I was hoping to ask Professor Snape to assign an extra essay for me to do, since I've already finished my first and I always enjoy the extra Potions work. Professor Snape always provides such a challenge.
My Father is going to Romania this weekend, so I'm hoping he'll have time to ask his colleagues if they have any suggestions on what Weasley ought to do to work off his debt to us. For some reason, Potter and Weasley seem to be surprised that Father's had this arranged. You would think they'd have learned by now that My Father is not to be trifled with, but evidently everything they learn promptly leaks out their noses.
As for updates on the house-elf bandits that have been stalking me, they've reached a new low. I'm certainly not going to go into the details of what Spellotape can do to one's Italian pants, but suffice it to say, it's an outrage and My Father will be hearing about it.

It is not a matter of whether or not older people like to play Grottle, but which older people like to play it. Who makes all the difference, my dear.

Yeah, but I guess if you don't like anything you don't like Grottle either.
