This week just keeps getting longer and longer. I've scarcely had time to continue my search for the robe culprit, and I only got half marks on my Transfiguration exam because I'd not had time to revise for the majority of the week. Then, in Potions yesterday, I was so tired from putting together that ridiculous trellis that I nearly chopped off my own finger. If I were the type of person who laughed at themselves, I'd probably enjoy the irony of it, but then, I've never had reason to laugh at myself. I'd much rather leave that sort of thing up to the Hufflepuffs. I'm sure that only those types are the type that need to have a sense of humour about themselves.
In any case, the latest stalker was finally discovered yesterday, during--what else?--detention.
Friday: The two of you will rake the Quidditch pitch. If this is not done thoroughly, Madam Hooch has agreed to bench both of you for the next Slytherin-Gryffindor match.

Yeah, I'm fine. It was just a twisted knee. Madam Pomfrey made me stay overnight in the infirmary, but I think she just does that sometimes. Really, it was okay, I was out before dinner.

What happened?! Don't make me read this bloody entry, it is longer than all my textbooks!

Oh. Well we had to clean the library on Monday and there were these books that jumped off the shelf and then one of them started chasing us, but I guess I told you about that already, and then on Friday when Malfoy and I were raking the Quidditch pitch there were all these weird papery sounds and so we went to put the rakes away and then this book kind of jumped at me. I guess I kind of tried to defend myself and I fell and twisted my knee and the book kept flapping and then Malfoy stabbed it with a rake.

Was it Hogwarts, A History? That book is cursed, I tell you.
(parent)just_harry @ 2002-11-11 08:10 am UTC |
Er, no, it was the art of Literary Self Defence or something like that. Which I guess is a book on how to defend yourself from books, only the book attacks you. So that's really useful.

Well, I guess the moral of the story is that reading can be very dangerous. You alright now?
(parent)just_harry @ 2002-11-11 08:18 am UTC |
Yeah, my knee still hurts a little if I put pressure on it, but it's pretty much fixed, I guess. Have you started your Divinations chart yet?
(parent) knight_to_h3 @ 2002-11-11 08:22 am UTC Re: |
I can't believe you got attacked by a book! It's pretty funny if you think about it, well, not to you, maybe if it was Hermione who got attacked it would have been funnier, but anyway. I'm doing the bloody chart now. I just predicted death by paper cuts for next week. How is yours going?
(parent)just_harry @ 2002-11-11 08:25 am UTC |
It was an attacking book, you know. It wasn't just any book. Besides, it was stalking us all week. I've got death by being crushed by a statue here, but yours looks longer than mine. Have you got any big losses of possessions?
(parent)knight_to_h3 @ 2002-11-11 08:34 am UTC |
Ohh loss of possessions, good idea. Have you got any? I can't think of a good one, I mean, I could say I'm going to lose my Cannons glove but I might end up jinxing myself. Would "Loss of Potions professor" count?
(parent)just_harry @ 2002-11-11 08:37 am UTC |
Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I'm going to put that on Thursday I'll lose my Divination homework, how's that?
(parent)knight_to_h3 @ 2002-11-11 08:46 am UTC |
Haha! Good one! Then that bat can't blame you for not turning it in, can she!
(parent)potterstinks @ 2002-11-12 09:53 pm UTC |
Oh, please do make yourselves at home in my journal! Can I fetch you anything? A cup of tea, perhaps?

You're the one having a conversation that's getting emailed to me. Surely my email is my business.
