It's been quite an eventful fortnight. I'm just back from Milan, where I ordered a few new items for mine and Draco's wardrobe. I hope that the contributions I've made to Draco's burgeoning Quidditch career prove to be of some value. Draco has had a tough year, but perhaps things are looking up for him. Ronald Weasley has apparently gone round the bed (and color me oh so surprised) and is hurling the strangest accusations at Draco. Draco is, of course, handling the younger Weasley with his usual good grace.
I met last week with a private investigator who came quite highly recommended. He is from the States, but he seems to know his business. I intend to find out, for Narcissa's sake, the exact provenance of her pedigree. She deserves to know if she is truly an aristocrat by birth. She will always be my darling Narcissa, no matter what some drunken detective may tell me. He's hinted that I may not like what he has to find out, but I reminded him that I am the one writing the cheque and I will determine what my reactions will be to the news that he brings me. I poured him a few more vodkas and that was the end of that.
It seems that Narcissa has taken a bit of a fancy to young Harry Potter, and has taken her under a wing to a certain extent. I have always endeavoured to show Draco that those of us residing in a certain social class have a responsibility to help those less fortunate, and my darling Narcissa is a shining example. I do hope Mr. Potter appreciates her efforts on his behalf. I am certain Narcissa would never be so foolish as to cast pearls before swine.
On the subject of jewelry, I have been to London and purchased a small trinket, just to cheer my darling Narcissa. She has not been herself lately, and it pains me to see the faint line of worry she sometimes displays after a sleepless night. Nothing but the best for my Narcissa. We shall find out the truth, and I will of course be her devoted husband no matter what we find out.

Mistress Narcissa asked Dacey, sir, to lets you know that she won't be coming to see you at your chambers, sir. Owl post upset her a great big deal, sir, and Dacey is trying to make sense of things. Dacey cannot understand Mistress Narcissa for all the crying, sir.
