Lovely dinner in Kiev with Narcissa. She's been such an asset to me in so many ways, and I think I'm just now realizing the extent of her abilities and ambition. I'm proud to have her as a wife. She did a tarot reading for me just now and the final outcome was quite appropriate: the Death card.
Let's just say I'm smiling now.
Work is busy; however, just one more loose end to deal with and then it will all be sorted out to rest in peace. If such can be said to exist.
I've been worried about Draco, but he seems to be feeling fine and it appears that his nose will heal just fine. A prominent proboscis is not anything a Malfoy should aspire to. However, such concerns are trivial when compared against, say, the Berlin Wall or the Iron Curtain.

You shouldn't forget to add the Chamber of Secrets to your list, darling.

See what I mean? You are indeed a wise woman, my love.
I shall add it to my list. Thanks ever so for the reminder--I confess that my attention is drawn elsewhere and I find myself quite distracted these days.

You are quite welcome, although you needn't thank me. I take it upon myself to observe and pay mind to the seemingly minor things that others might miss. What may at first appear to be inconsequential may end up being the most important thing of all...and I do not intend on allowing opportunities to be missed.

Have you been in my library? I can't find my history of the Ptolemys and thought you might have borrowed it.

I have been in your library today. However, I have not been reading on the Ptolemys. Rather, I found myself to be engrossed in a tome detailing the life and tribulations of Yardley Platt. It is such a shame that most of wizarding society did not find merit with Platt's intention to drive out Goblins from Europe. Although his ways were a bit...savage...his ideology was quite interesting, in my opinion.

Sometimes force must be used to accomplish the greater good. It is hard to sacrifice in the name of a greater cause, but, regrettably, often necessary.

It is, isn't it? I find that sometimes, though, people do more than they should. This, too, can also be construed as a pity.

Sometimes it seems that people stay constantly busy so that they don't have to face what is, for them at least, a very painful reality. I cannot imagine how painful it would be to look back at events in my life and know that I could have avoided hurting my loved ones.

Reality is what one makes of it, not necessarily one and the same as that with whom one associates.

Indeed it is, my love.
Shall we dine here at the Manor or would you prefer another location?
blondenarcissa @ 2004-04-23 06:06 pm UTC |
I'm not interested in food at the moment, Lucius. I should like to finish my book and direct Dacey to pack my things for my travelling.

Ah. I shall dine alone, then. I'll be in my chambers if you require anything.
