Current mood: busy

London!
After some unnecessary worry Saturday night, which led to a necessary task Sunday morning, the trip to London Monday couldn't have come at a better time.

Taking the Tube is always fun. I've been on it a few times when visiting Dean so I had a sense for how it all works and how to look inconspicuous, but with a big group of us it was much tougher. Dean started lying to passersby and saying we were all from the countryside and had never seen the Underground which I suppose, come to think of it, isn't far from the truth.

We had a very informative tour about the Ministry, parts I hadn't really seen before since I have only really been there for parts of Animagus training. We even met another werewolf, who was very nice even though I'm sure it must have been unexpected and awkward for him. Then a museum tour which was incredibly gruesome--so glad I live in this century, and not that one. Then lunch.

Then free time! Which means shopping! Which means Soho! I had been there now and again with Oliver when in town for training, so it was ME leading DEAN for a change. He got this very smart shirt at my suggestion, and then insisted that I purchase these trousers which I plan on wearing over Easter hols. And then I saw Ron wandering into a Lesbian bar, which was odd. As he pointed out, it was the only bar with lots of girls--but then again, none of those girls would be looking at him.

Speaking of which, we will be off to Ireland straight away, and for once the Finnigan (that is, Muggle) side of the family will be much in evidence. Mass Friday, Mass Sunday, likely also Saturday knowing Gran. We have come to a truce, she and I--I can bring nice boys home, but I cannot look like a "practicing homosexual" in front of our priest. Since I'd rather NOT get a lecture from Father Heaney, I'm more than happy to comply. Anyway, this may give Dean some hope that his parents will come around. After all, Gran did. Eventually. After some screaming and threats of disownment and berating of Da and "that woman" (who would be Mum). But she DID come around, which is the important bit.

Am very much looking forward to this evening's lessons. I know that Prof. Black's Animagus form has some kind of calming effect on Prof. Lupin, and I'm very curious indeed to see how that will work.
