You don't know how tense you are about something until it is resolved and the relief hits so hard you nearly collapse. I'd been yearning to light candles—funny how the ways of childhood come back in a crisis—but I never could keep my saints straight and was on the verge of sending Muggle mail to my Finnigan grandmother to ask her.
Somehow, the rest of this business doesn't seem so bad at the moment. Even exams. Even the bizarre behaviour of the only two men I've had in my life. Even that.
Parvati, get your shoes on. We're going shopping.

Yes, but don't tell anyone. Who knows how long it will last.
And wasn't it a brilliant day?

And why on Earth did you try and convince Malfoy to come? I absolutely Can't stand him.

Because he isn't as bad as he likes to think he is, or perhaps, isn't as bad as he'd like to be. He isn't very nice, to be sure, but you know, it's better to keep him occupied.

In retrospect, I think it was probably not a very good idea to invite him. I just was feeling very happy, and I didn't think he should be moping around the castle like he does. I forget that he has a fairly narrow comfort zone, and that he can be very unpleasant to people. So, I'm sorry, you're right, it would have been uncomfortable if he had come.
Though, I still hope he doesn't spend the entire weekend moping.
