Mars is bright tonight.
Mr Finch-Fletchley, famed assailant upon my Tower in solo acts, has made the gossip mill again by spending an evening in Ravenclaw Tower, being caught by Mr Malfoy, and being punished by one Severus Snape, who was caught in his dressing gown.
I feel a smile coming on.
Xiomara and I discussed the sordid affair over cigarettes yesterday morning after I overheard Filius and Sprout whispering about it in the Great Hall. Sprout seems horrified, Filius is faking innocence quite as well as his House typically does by pretending he has no idea what 'coitus' means. We all know he didn't earn that Head of Ravenclaw position without knowing what 'coitus' means. If it were anyone but Flitwick, I might think they'd just been doing it to see the fluster on Sprout's face as she explained, but I have no hopes here.
Xiomara informed me that Severus, Filius, Sprout, and Mr Finch-Fletchley were due to meet in a conference later in the morning, which for some reason they did not think Xiomara and I were fit to attend. The gist of it seems to be that Mr Finch-Fletchley's biggest punishment is public humiliation, since Mr Malfoy has gratuitously informed us all of the details. Malfoys do seem to come in handy once in awhile.
Severus later passed on the information that Mr Finch-Fletchley and Ms Bones have decided to spend their holidays at home rather than at Hogwarts. Apparently their relationship is spoiled by this Hufflepuff debauchery, and last I heard, Ms Bones was seen shredding a sprig of mistletoe and sobbing to Ms Patil.
I do find it odd that not a single Ravenclaw has come into question for Mr Finch-Fletchley's whereabouts. I did notice that Ms Brocklehurst was absent from lessons today. Filius turns a blind eye yet again. What will he think of next.
I feel right chipper. I've been hoping for a good scandal before Christmas. Even if it is the Hufflepuffs.
