Total eclipse of the carte blanche.
Like the majority of Hogwarts I spend last night at Remus Lupin's housewarming party. Sadly Remus was not appreciative of my attempt at holding tradition by smashing a bottle of champagne on his headboard. Sirius threatened to smash my 1926 firewhisky to christen my Tower and so I cleaned up the mess and we all had a good laugh, mainly at the expense of those not in attendance. As it turns out Sirius and I have a great deal more in common than originally realised and before he and Remus began exchanging bodily fluids we had an interesting conversation despite his leather trousers.
Remus seemed to be relatively better after what he says was a botched potion and Lucius was as Lucius as ever despite the fact that I noticed he has begun developing split ends. This is the penalty for immersing yourself too deeply in your work and why I have strived to avoid this at all costs.
Later Sirius burst into an impromptu cover of Celestina Warbeck's latest and I took this as my cue to head for the hills where I found Mr Creevey entangled in his latest torrid affair with a computer keyboard which had been ruined by an as-of-yet unidentified substance. Realising this could lead me to an out of body experience that would cost me thousands of galleons in wizitherapy I moved on to the rest of the house and found Remus has begun networking. He, like the rest of the Wizarding World, has embraced modern technology and has bought a computer for every day of the week.
After I realised that Mr Potter's only friend for the evening was his self-refilling beverage, I suspect I may have accidentally exchanged our drinks as I slept through the night and did not wake with a headache, other than the normal headache of waking up to find Mr Malfoy has posted a journal entry.

It wasn't so much the damage to the headboard, Sylvia, but the waste of a perfectly good bottle of champagne.
Which, actually, I happen to have at the moment. A housewarming gift from the headmaster. Sirius and I can't possibly drink it all (and I should like to discourage Sirius from attempting to).
If you're not busy, of course.

You know me, Remus. I'm hardly one to turn down a tiny glass of champagne here and there.

I'll have a pint-glass set aside for you, then.
Just as soon as I locate my Godson-By-Proxy and wring his little neck.

I do not have split ends, my dear. Perhaps it's just hard to see clearly in your usual intoxicated state.

Oh, but Luci, couldn't we say the same for your inability to see them?
