I've got a job!
Great Uncle Algie had a surprise for me when I got home. I'd thought I might look for a job over the summer for pocket money for next year. Wasn't quite sure what I should look for, but it turned out he had the perfect suggestion. There's a place called Heaton Hall, just outside Manchester, an 18th century great house, which is now owned by the city. It's surrounded by Heaton Park, the largest municipal park in all of Europe, about 650 acres in all. It's a really popular place for muggles to go on day trips. The house is open for tours, and they have splendid gardens, and a horticultural centre, a boating lake, an orangery, a petting zoo, horse back riding, everything else you can imagine. Anyway, my great uncle had met someone who was a wizard who works there, in the horticultural centre! And they needed extra help for the summer, and I got the job! Landscaping and working in the horticultural center and such. So I'll be working among muggles all summer. Won't that be strange? Great Uncle Algie and the wizard who works here, Mr. Takakura (he's Japanese) have arranged it so that I can take a port-key back and forth to the job each day, until I test for my Apparition license later this summer. It's some distance from my home.
