oh no :(
Oh, Christmas has been just horrible this year!!
It all started at king's cross when we left, cos Lavender hugged me and said she'd see me on Christmas Eve!! I didn't even know she was coming over at all!! So Gran took me home and I was so nervous about telling Gran that I ended up never telling her at all and then Lavender's parents drove her over because she's half and half.. you know, half muggle, half witch, and Gran was really surprised and I don't think she liked that Lavender's parents drove over in a car or anything and she just gave me a look that said she'd talk to me about it later!
It was really nice to see Lavender and she was really excited about having a wizard's Christmas so that just made me feel even worse because Great Uncle Algie and Gran don't do anything special!! Great Uncle Algie and Great Auntie Enid came over after Lavender and Great Uncle Algie picked me up and started shaking me like he always does, I guess he thinks I like it but I'm not so little anymore.. and everything was ok for the first night but Gran looked really mad!
Then on Christmas night we had turkey and potatoes and Christmas pudding and Gran doesn't like Christmas crackers so we didn't have any of those. Then Lavender gave Gran a handbag and I don't think Gran liked it very much. Then we ate for a while. Then everything was really quiet and then Great Uncle Algie made this joke about me and Lavender and it was just awful!! I fell over in my chair and Gran left the table and then she didn't come back!
Lavender was just so upset by it, I could tell, and I didn't know what to do cos I don't know why Gran's so mad. Great Uncle Algie was really embarrassing but I think Lavender was more upset cos she thinks Gran doesn't like her! And I just felt like a stupid swot about the whole thing and Lavender went home the next day and she was really quiet and i think she was upset.
Great uncle Algie thougth it was really funny until Lavender left, and then even he felt bad, and then him and Great Auntie Enid had a talk in the kitchen! I could hear them all the way up in my room and Great Auntie Enid was yelling at Gran! Then Great Uncle Algie and Great Auntie Enid went home and Great Uncle Algie told me to try to have a happy new year, even with Gran, he said, and they Apparated home really fast!
I almost wish I could have gone with them! Gran's been really quiet ever since and she keeps slamming dishes down when she sets the table and she sits all the way at the other end, which is how me and Gran usually eat, but nwo she won't even talk t ome at all! Children aren't supposed to speak unless spoken to and we use that rule at dinner but she won't say anything so I can't speak either! It's so awful!
I don't know what's worse, staying here for three more days or going back to Hogwarts! I love Hogwarts! But I'm useless at it anyway and I bet Gran knwos it too and I don't even know how I can face Lavender!
