(no title)
Mood: Suspenseful

I know there's major drama or whatever, but... I'm sort of concerned about the eating disorders I'm seeing...

As a person who was a teen-age girl, not TOO long ago, I see this as normal girl behavior.

I did stupid stuff like that, my friends did too. Diets like Lavender and Parvati's never lasted long.

However, if it goes on longer than a couple of days, then maybe it needs to be worried about.

I took ballet for 12 years, I (unfortunately) know eating disorders when I see 'em. I nearly lost a classmate to one =(

Makes for great drama, though. Eating disorders and car crashes... the stuff soap operas should be made of...

Hopefully they're not going to take this into anything else. The above person said it was normal teenage behavior except when it continues, which I can agree with.

As a person recovering from an eating disorder, I can safely say it does start out like this, say maybe with a group of friends eating nothing but apples for a week. But then one of them decides to make it two weeks, and three weeks, just to see if she can do it and all her other friends or her sister in this case would say "Oh you look so good." So then she'd just want to continue.

BUT! After that heavy post I'm thinking that Parvati and Padma are just being their ditsy selves and it won't last long. I'm sure they're just trying to impress somebody and when said person tells them how attractive they are, they'll resume eating. Hopefully.

That didn't worry me overmuch. I think other characters would step in if it got out of hand. Padma was quick to chime in there.

It did occur to me that Parvati might have been reading Ivy's recent entry. ;)

It does look sort of familiar =^^=;;

I was way better at calling things in the X-Force fandoms, before the new team.... the reason I can't write fanfic is because I make everybody miserable, everybody's neurotic or sick or dying or plain old depressed. If I'm not happy, nobody else should be, damnit!

Sorry, we didn't see her post before we made ours! It is merely coincidence.

But an amusing coincidence. I just hadn't thought of dried apricots as a diet food before then. :D

I have an eating disorder, and this sort of worries me too because it sounds like potential behaviour, but they're being kind of flaky about it, so I'm hoping this is just going to be one of Those things Parvati talks about but Never really Does.

and she really amuses me, she does. She gets all angry about Padma saying purple isn't her colour then when Padma says she looks better in red, she's happy again. XD lovely.

I am glad you said something, because frankly, I've been bothered by it for several weeks.

I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I'm grateful that the players are playing their characters realistically, because it is something that teenagers girls (and others, of all shapes, ages, and gender) do. But I'm bothered because I can't tell if they are trying to be serious about it or are trying to be funny. If it's serious then I'm all for it. I'm really glad Padma told them to knock it off today, and I hope she will speak up again. But if they're trying to be funny... >:O!!!! It's not funny, because there are people out there who are suffering. People out there who are dying.

In either case, I really hope Lavender and Parvati stumble across Something Fishy (http://www.something-fishy.org) soon. Maybe that will knock some sense into them.

And yes, this is worded strongly. but I feel strongly about it.

Could Parvati be pregnant? She did have that drugged-up tryst with Terry Boot a while ago?

Terry Boot a father...? Noooooooh!
