I saw the most curious thing: Severus Snape looking absolutely rumpled and departing the North Tower! How decidedly odd. I thought he resided in the dungeons?

Very nice! Question about the animated icons: are they just .gifs? If so, how do you make them look so nice while reducing them to the 216-color table?

Yep, they're .gifs.

I use the Animation shop 3 program, and it does a sort of 'automatic smoosh' type thing when it saves th animation, depending on what level of quality you set it to.
(I'm so technologically illiterate that I don't even know the proper name for the saving/smooshing process. Trust me, it's the program.)

The only bad thing is that it's shareware, but I just reinstall it whenever I need to.
