I love how cool Narcissa is about Lucius being absent. I mean, she probably know exactly where he is and why, but she's not going to search or fret or show she's upset over who/what he may be doing. The final phase of empowered!Narcissa, indeed.

I'm so glad Narcissa isn't acting like it's the Apocalypse anymore. I was really beginning to fear that Hera's coaching had gone in one ear and out the other. Oh my god! End of world! Potterstinks' reply so cracks me up because on some strange level it's exactly the reply I was expecting (the jist of it--the details I could never have come up with). It just reminded me of that Absolutely Fabulous moment when Eddie is fantasizing about young Serge and he keeps changing because her memory of his youth is so vague. Finally she comes back to reality and Saffy is holding up a picture. Eddie says, "Who's that?" and she replies, "That's him." She says, "Oh god, I thought that was Jimmy Osmond," or something like that.

This is even better.

You can hear the weariness in his voice, though. He's ticked off, and he's hurt.

It's an intriguing development though -- building on the "1984" business and Narcissa's confusion about Draco's age. Did she have a baby that she had to give up?

Saffy was generally ticked off, weary and hurt too--that's why I expected it as I clicked on his reply.:-(

I was very worried to see Narcissa then not leave with Lucius and Draco on vacation and reach out to Harry "love." Such a bad idea.

That had definitely been my original thought about the 1984 slip. Either a baby she had to give up or a miscarriage or any number of things. It could have just been the illness, though, which made her confuse dates. It really is possible she just confused the pictures. Little blonde kitchen-boy might be Draco's age.
