Mood: curious

Is anyone thinking that the dress Padma received might be from Pansy? Might it be poisoned? Hmmm. It might be from Narcissa too, I guess.

Hmm, good point. We don't really know *who* sent it. Er. Yet?

Parvati would really be in the best position to buy Padma a dress, what with being her twin at all. I wouldn't be surprised if she was trying to ruin the date.

But it might be ruined anyway; Draco has detention with Dean and Terry tonight.

And he also has a chance to meet with Harry. I think Draco/Padma was doomed from the start, even without the aid of a possibly cursed dress. How depressing. I know how much everybody wanted them to get together.

*pats hand* Never fear, they will get together sometime. Just not today if Draco is a smart boy; I wouldn't skip out on a detention given by Snape. The resulting actions could be rather unpleasent.

I agree that there was no chance for Draco/Padma (He needs Harry and she deserves someone who has an interest in her), so that isn't an issue.

As for Harry, I would like to think that he would understand that Draco has detention.

But the two are starting to talk in public, so I'm happy. Maybe things will move a little faster now.

Oh, I'm sure Snape wouldn't be too angry. I mean, he's so tolerant of everyone, never takes away house points unnecessarily, never suspects ulterior motives, never cynical. How mad could he possibly get over a simple thing like detention..

But just_harry would definitely understand that Draco has detention. He's just so sweet, so Harry.

Possible. Because Padma probably wouldn't let Pansy "help" her prepare for her date so Pansy would need some way to sabatoge it. Maybe the dres disappears after a while?

Ooh, a disappearing dress. How awful. Perhaps it would lead to another of Draco's cantaloupe posts. Or maybe to the discovery that melons just aren't his type of fruit.

::snorts juice:: Of course, Pansy has been trying to tell him all along that he prefers bananas...

non_inferno @ April 15 2003, 18:04:57 UTC

And of course he has to claim that he's allergic, but that just adds to the whole lure of the forbidden fruit thing that's going on.

Given the history of Draco's former dating partners, Padma should be very suspicious of that dress.

Wasn't there a version of the Snow White story where the disguised stepmother gave her a dress that cut off her breathing? Hmmmm.

I believe it also shows up in a Greek myth, where the sorceress Medea gave a poisoned wedding dress as a gift to the future bride of Jason who threw her over in favour of her. Dear Padma is a Ravenclaw, she really should know these things ;-)

katrionaa @ April 15 2003, 18:54:05 UTC

Ohh nasty. Padma should know such things for certain.

(Scarier yet to think of Pansy taking notes from Medea.)

*laughs* Fortunately Pansy doesn't have any children to slaughter.

The date seems to be a post-detention walk, so the dress will be voided out after all. Let's see if Draco can make it through detention without hurting himself and then be pleasant during his date.

Wah. Why doesn't he want a late-night golf lesson? At least we get to find out what's going on with the dress.

Um, guys? You might want to peek back at the other thread and see what PS said RIGHT after comments to Padma.

Hmmmmm, that's an odd declaration of something.

Draco is watching Harry, but why? The romantic in me would like to think that it's because Harry is just too cute/sexy/beautiful that Draco has to watch him whenever he can.

On the other hand, it could be that Draco was feeling somewhat uncomfortable after his civilized conversation with Harry and was trying to put himself back on familiar ground.

Since LJ is being so icky and we've collapsed threads, direct link.

And yes. I think with Padma's date PS is secure in his ability to attract... he's still Got It, despite it all. He doesn't need to stoop to Harry Potter.

...and I still have a bad feeling about this.
