Current mood: aggravated

Attention, Longbottom.
While it is most certainly not my intent to belittle your experience, as I assure you that I am quite aware of the situation, I am afraid that I simply cannot allow you to withdraw yourself from the Potions curriculum. Potions is a required part of your education and were I to make an exception for you, I (though I am certainly not as eccentric as our Divinations professor) foresee that I should find myself asked to make exceptions for every pupil who no longer wished to participate in one of the core studies. Longbottom, your issues with Professor Snape are not to be marginalised; however, make no mistake that others have not found themselves in similar situations. You will not be punished for your actions today, but should it happen again the result shall be no different than with another pupil.

Professor McGonagall

Thank you for responding to me, Professor.

Um, I'm sorry to bring it up again, but could you please tell me whether you and the Headmaster have made a decision on my other proposal? To take Veritaserum again?

No.

Um, I just want to make sure I understand things clearly. "No" means "No decision has been made" (which was my question above). Or does it mean "No, we're not going to give it to you"?

I'm sorry, sir, I don't mean to be thick, but what, exactly did you mean when you replied in my journal here? Are you saying that you don't even want to give me the Veritaserum? I thought you surely would!

No. It will not be given to you. It is the coward's method of discovery. It is thievery of the mind. You will not resort to such methods and neither shall I.

There is nothing I wish to know from you that I do not already.

Truly perplexed

Well, I'm very sorry, but I don't understand. I still want to know! What non-cowardly method am I supposed to be using?

Re: Truly perplexed

Do it myself? How?
