*weeps* Poor Ron! Poor Ginny! Poor Harry!

Despite Ron's arseholeness, I love him still. :(

Plus, he told Harry to ask Draco out. :)

This is true.

Bonus points for the Weasel.

weatherby @ March 27 2003, 16:56:11 UTC

I say poor Ron. He is clearly trying to protect his sister and just misses Harry!

anamirza @ March 27 2003, 18:32:27 UTC

I have to side with Harry here. I think he's been feeling kind of left out for a while.

and I have to send Harry's present off with Pig cos I kind of didn't realise he was staying behind until he wasn't on the train.

And Ron does think he's protecting Ginny, but...

nefeleo @ March 27 2003, 16:57:39 UTC

I do appreciate that Ron's subconscious seems to have a better grasp of the Potter/Malfoy situtation than his conscious does.

(parent)

anamirza @ March 27 2003, 17:07:34 UTC

Boy is that ever true. And I wonder if that's partly what's upsetting everyone - Ron's conscious doesn't quite seem to have grasped a number of things, and the things his subconscious is saying...and then he's all "What? What? What did I say?"

(parent)

nefeleo @ March 27 2003, 17:10:52 UTC

Oh, so true!

...Is it canon that Ron is a savant when it comes to divination? Or am I just getting that from fanon - have I been reading too much Draco Trilogy? I can't remember, it's been a very long time since I've read the books.

Well, if he is a diviner in canon, that might help explain his ability to know what's going on without explicitly -knowing- it.

anamirza @ March 27 2003, 17:16:43 UTC

Wouldn't Parvati be pleased if she knew? Kind of the last laugh on one of the skeptics.

I don't remember any canon events Ron predicts. But all I really remember of Divination is that he and Harry are pretty creative with their homework.

(parent)

karabou @ March 27 2003, 17:30:33 UTC

LOL, too much Trilogy for you.. in canon, Ron's diviner talents went as far as reading tea leaves to be bowler hats and goats and stuff. ;)

(parent)

nefeleo @ March 27 2003, 17:34:14 UTC

Ha! I thought I was probably wrong, but thought I'd give it a shot!

So much for that theory. ;D

(parent)

karabou @ March 27 2003, 17:41:03 UTC

That's okay... when I first read the Trilogy (first ever fanfic) my mind was so confused between canon and fanfic I kept talking to people who'd only read the books about Trilogy occurances, thinking they were in the book, and having them give me strange looks and go "Huh??".

(parent)

justapresence @ March 27 2003, 16:59:56 UTC

Haha, I would weep, but am having too much fun laughing at Ronniekins ^^. <3 Ron.

(parent)

mcslytherin @ March 27 2003, 17:04:07 UTC

*sniffleweep*

Ah well. We can only hope that Harry does ask Draco out. That would make us feel better, eh? ;)

(parent)

anamirza @ March 27 2003, 17:04:09 UTC

Wow. Ron is really ... flipping out. And he's nasty when he's upset.

I'm suddenly glad *I* don't have a big brother.

(parent)

karabou @ March 27 2003, 17:05:38 UTC

It is sad... they need Hermione to help patch things up, or something.

(parent)

anamirza @ March 27 2003, 17:50:07 UTC

I can't believe she hasn't commented at all on any of this. I'd think she'd have something to say about some of Ron's comments.

(parent)

karabou @ March 27 2003, 17:52:20 UTC Re:

I haven't seen her post/comment in awhile.... :(

moony @ March 27 2003, 18:52:13 UTC

She's MIA.

*sigh*

(parent)

tropes @ March 27 2003, 17:10:13 UTC

It is so maddening. I want to bap him and I want Ginny to lose it and COME OUT ALREADY.

(parent)

anamirza @ March 27 2003, 17:18:55 UTC

But does anyone other than Ron Not Get It? She and Cho have not been overly subtle.

Waiting for the rest of the Weasley clan to weigh in on this...

(parent)

trempnvt @ March 27 2003, 17:20:45 UTC

What? Doesn't he already get it?

(parent)

tropes @ March 27 2003, 17:25:21 UTC

I get the impression that he thinks that Cho's a sexual predator and Ginny's a victim of pedophilia or something. Asshat.

(parent)

tropes @ March 27 2003, 17:21:22 UTC

It's true. But I feel like Ron's The Person she needs to come out to. They're the youngest -- they share so much. They're very close. He's kind of the pivotal rejection, you know?

(parent)

anamirza @ March 27 2003, 17:44:37 UTC

kind of the pivotal rejection

Yeah, especially RIGHT after she talked to him. Poor Ginny! But maybe it will be better once (a) he's calmed down and (b) she and Cho are more of an Established Item.

He has been treating Cho like she's 'robbing the cradle', but Ginny's only a year younger than he is...and maybe he'll see that as time goes on and Ginny is clearly not 'brainwashed' or whatever he thinks.

(parent)

tropes @ March 27 2003, 17:52:51 UTC

Exactly. It was horrible and perfect, the way it played out today. I think Ron doens't have the ability to see Ginny as a sexual person. So she's just got to keep on with Cho and make him see that she's not 8 years old anymore. Poor thing. This is not the way it has to be. :(

(parent)

kokopoko @ March 27 2003, 17:20:20 UTC

Very sad. But now Harry has an excuse to ask Malfoy out!

(parent)

delfeus @ March 28 2003, 02:33:17 UTC

"But it was your idea!"

*lol*

(parent)

sistermagpie @ March 27 2003, 17:34:21 UTC

It's killing me. Ginny, at least, has Cho to talk to. Ron and Harry arguing over who forgot who first is just too sad. "I'm not Hermione so I'm surprised you even knew I was at Grottle." ::sob::

And Malfoy continues to be silent? Even in the face of of a Potter/Weasley fight? Oh, that boy must be terrified but good...

(parent)

lore @ March 27 2003, 17:36:42 UTC

I don't get it, *all* Ron does is snap at *everyone.* He's become the Gryffindor version of Malfoy, only he sputters and spews while Malfoy carves and cuts. And when Ron and Malfoy go at each other...just sad on Ron's part.

Where is Boot? He had a nice way of being mean without shouting all the time.... ;)

love, lore

altricial @ March 27 2003, 18:31:33 UTC

*wails*

(parent)

greenapricot @ March 27 2003, 19:03:02 UTC

And Harry was trying to talk to Ron about it but he's lost all hope.

Pain and woe. *wibble*

(parent)

tonic_x @ March 27 2003, 19:10:41 UTC

So sad! Quite easily one of the more dramatic NA moments... *sniff* Enough fighting, make up, NOW...

(parent)

katrionaa @ March 27 2003, 19:36:42 UTC

Poor Ron! He's quite gone off the deep end! :(

(parent)

black_dog @ March 27 2003, 20:41:07 UTC

Poor w00bies. All of them. Even Ron, though I'd like to drop kick him through each of the quidditch hoops in succession, and poke him with a stick when he gets stuck. He just terrified of change in people, change in loyalties, isn't he? I hope there's something left of him to apologize with after Lupin gets through with him. Though he maybe seems to be getting it, finally, with his comment to Ginny about "your special tree."

And Harry -- testing the waters so timidly with Ron, on lying, on secrecy, on making your own choices, and being smacked down so brutally by the oblivious git. Been there, been there, been there, it makes me feel 15 again. Beautifully done.

Do Sirius and Remus get what's happening with Harry? They would, I think, if they weren't so absorbed in their own new house and domestic excitement, but they're emotionally MIA at just the wrong time.

Reading between the lines to imagine Malfoy's sexual panic beside the lake. Glad Queenie and Pansy are having a talk.

*sigh* Thank you, Aja, for starting this community. I am so clueless sometimes, I was following my favorite soap opera without even understanding that there was an elaborate fandom-within-a-fandom for it.

Poor Ron?! What the hell poor Ron? Ron's an idiot like always... I've never liked him.

Poor Harry...
