"See you Monday, Potter."

I know we've already mentioned this a bit, but now it really does seem like Draco's either desperate to be back at school or desperate to make it known that he's not there. Is this just because he doesn't like where is is specifically, at the moment, or do you all think it's something more general (like spending time with school friends - or enemies? - as opposed to his family)? Thoughts?

Oh, right... and also, SQUEE.

Oh, I think that's definitely *squee*able. (*squee*worthy?) It's not as though he simply said he'd be returning Monday, he's made it a cautiously personal message by the way he's worded it. A bit of friendliness to take the sting out of his rant perhaps?

"See you Monday" is the new "Okay". >:D

Absolute squee, as he is definitely connotating being back at school with seeing Harry-- and also, it's a somewhat nonsequitur in the comment. It's not a natural addendum to the "anti-sun" tought-- it's very specifically an addition and direct friendly response to Harry.

Perhaps it is just me, but it also reads as though Harry sent Draco to Cannes with a ... care package. Something with sunscreen and aloe in it, perhaps.

Definate continuation of the SQUEE.

I thought that was one of the most blatantly blatant, affectionate things I've ever read from ps.

I wonder if he had a little anxiety over leaving school and not knowing where he stood with Harry or something? There's something odd going on with Ron leaving school for a few days and not wanting Harry to catch Malfoy's eye in class--what's that about? (Maybe Ron is angry that Harry and Draco are spending time together as friends when that is his role?) Harry's response is so Harry in mother-hen mode (which Draco adores, imo) I got the feeling ps may have been super happy that Harry replied to it. He knows Harry's thinking about him.

Most importantly "see you Monday" sort of implies speaking etc. on Monday. Like Harry's obviously waiting for Draco to come back to school and Draco will seek Harry out when he gets there. And the nose falling off is just too funny. I swear the pair of them are like an old married couple already, him grousing about his precious skin, Harry tutting that he gave him sunscreen because he knows he burns and Draco grumbling that he didn't know if it had gone bad, ending with the hilarious "my nose could have fallen off" comment. I wouldn't be surprised if Harry slathered him with aloe when he came home. Squee!

AMEN. I read it and did a double-take, I was so surprised. Like other people have mentioned, not only is it specifically directed at Harry, it certainly has all those delicious possibilities and connotations that you mentioned! \:D/

Indeed. Something is rotten in the state of Hogwarts. I can't remember anything happening recently besides Harry and Draco "bonding" again that could do something like this (didn't Neville say this is exactly like the time Harry and Ron fought during GoF?). I think someone suggested in a recent post that it could have something to do with Dean... >_>

:) Sorry for deleting the post, I have a bad habit of micro-editing and then getting distracted! BTW, if you're tempted to give up for the night, I hope you didn't miss Draco and Millicent, probably talking about Ron.

You know, I was about to go to bed when the comments started up. *sigh*

Really, I had given Harry credit for better technique.

"TBWL is such a cruel fellow. I suppose it's 'wham, bam, thank you ma'am' for you and TBWL. How inconsiderate."

No sleep for the obsessed. I think my brain just imploded from PS using Harry!Implication and "wham, bam" in the same sentence.

The combination of the two threads -- where Draco is menacing Ron for what he said, without suggesting it's false, and revealing all kinds of direct and indirect stuff on the Millicient thread -- is getting awfully close to a big admission. Don't you think? I really, really want to see how this plays out.

On the other nraged thread, some commentators seem to be flirting with the possibility -- not quite making it explicit -- that PS and MB are using one another's passwords and personas. I read through again to see if it made more sense this way. It's very suggestive, but I'm not sure. What do you think?

(parent)

sistermagpie @ May 31 2003, 22:12:17 UTC

I tried and...I just don't see it. The both sound like themselves and seem to be referring to incidents involving themselves. I love that they use differently sexed icons in literatti, but the hair colors are the same and that's where their real identities lie!

And go Draco promising M.B. that Harry will come after her with a fiery TBWL vengeance. Poor Harry.

(parent)

black_dog @ May 31 2003, 22:16:49 UTC

Harry joined the thread! Yay!

(parent)

sistermagpie @ May 31 2003, 22:21:17 UTC

Draco's "Oh, hello TBWL" and "Take take take," comment is killing me. Draco sounds positively giddy!

(parent)

black_dog @ May 31 2003, 22:26:18 UTC

I still suspect something is awry, though. They seem to be playing identity games, using some kind of private rule. I love the idiot!Hufflepuff spectators.

(parent)

black_dog @ May 31 2003, 22:51:08 UTC

OK, I take it back as it starts all making sense, the identity thing was a red herring I guess. But giddy is definitely the word. I love it!

Waiting for one of them to notice Colin has commented.

I totally agree. It really made me smile. I mean, it's something you say to someone you're looking forward to seeing soon. Just direct, simple friendliness. After some funny banter about the sunscreen.

There's something odd going on with Ron

You know, I have no evidence for this at all, but I wonder if he hasn't been the victim of the charm/curse that Draco and Millicent were talking about the other day. Perhaps something has made him less-than-presentable in public. And I'll bet Harry had no problem with it, at all.

(parent)

imochan @ May 31 2003, 20:29:10 UTC

More reason to <3 Millicent. I love the name of the post -- "result of the match" -- and its offhand contempt for today's Hufflepuff-Ravenclaw quidditch game!
