I love it! I love cliffhangers, and this way when we all finish OotP we'll have something else to be uber excited about! *dances in chair*

(parent)

blue_lightning @ June 20 2003, 08:33:12 UTC

an emergency like this is the perfect guise under which to kill off the character who will be dying in the book.

brilliant plan, in my opinion. I'll be busy grieving for the next little while.

(parent)

imochan @ June 20 2003, 08:52:38 UTC

why aren't you online. we must wibble together. come minion, and entertain me whilst i flail around miserably in my own HP-induced hysteria. come.

(parent)

neveth @ June 20 2003, 08:34:02 UTC

You know... I was just thinking.. this might also be a good way of reconcilling deaths with the book as well as tormenting us further by cliffhangers....

*wibble*

(parent)

kat99999 @ June 20 2003, 08:48:27 UTC

*wibbles furiously* You have just made me v.v.v.worried! I don't want anyone on NA to die :-( Ahh. I am too emotionally charged today, lmao.

(parent)

imochan @ June 20 2003, 08:49:32 UTC

I'm with you. One death is enough. Let's keep the massive emotional breakdowns for canon, thankyouverymuch. ;DDD

(parent)

kat99999 @ June 20 2003, 08:50:57 UTC

Seriously, if someone in Canon _and_ NA were to die, I would quite likely wibble myself to an early grave. I couldnt not pick a single character on NA that I would ever want to lose.... *clutches*

(parent)

imochan @ June 20 2003, 08:39:55 UTC

It's so cool, your icon, it's like a 100 x 100 trailer for the book! It keeps making me excited!

I think Ernie's calmness is a brilliant representation of the (slight) arrogance that comes from the new announcer position. It's almost Percy-esque! Thumbs up to the player for using the situation to sharply outline that personality trait.

(parent)

serpensortia @ June 20 2003, 09:57:59 UTC

Ernie rocks. :D As do all the hufflepuffs.

Am I the only one thinking of Neville? He was only saying earlier to Ron about Snape trying to make him angry and provoke him here...maybe Snape was right? Does Neville hold a power that Voldemort could only dream of having? A power that rocks solid stone?

Or have I just gone insane for the day? (Answer: YES.) O_o;;

(parent)

trowa @ June 20 2003, 10:07:27 UTC

I was thinking the exact same thing!(about Neville, not you being insane).

(parent)

la_trix @ June 20 2003, 10:20:26 UTC

Hmmm. Interesting thought. But I tend to think the attack is from Death Eaters, because of Goyle's disappearance from class. Gone to join the other side, maybe?

P.S. I knew it! I just knew there would be a cliffhanger! Hurray!

(parent)

trowa @ June 20 2003, 14:21:20 UTC

wait! I changed my mind! based on the alt text for colin__creevey's second picture in his profile, and his too calm latest post, I think the explosions are tied to Colin and not Neville afterall.

(parent)

notapipe @ June 20 2003, 15:22:37 UTC

Except Colin should be in class with Ginny when she reports the disturbances...

(parent)

notapipe @ June 20 2003, 15:23:14 UTC

Though he could set bombs (he can make a car, he could probably make a bomb) and set it on a timer...

(parent)

Anonymous @ June 21 2003, 17:08:07 UTC

Maybe he talked Goyle into helping him with whatever madness he had planned? I can't help but imagine that it's connected, since Goyle/Colin is my favorite NA ship, even if Colin's in denial so far that he makes Draco look like a novice at it.

I've figured it out.
Neville Longbottom is someone you don't want to see angry.
Well, obviously, because Neville Longbottom is
THE HULK.

(parent)

neveth @ June 20 2003, 11:22:22 UTC

OF COURSE!!! That explains EVERYTHING!

(parent)

notapipe @ June 20 2003, 11:25:56 UTC

I would like to take this opportunity to point out that the above comment is INDEPENDANT verification of Comic Book Villian!Neville, specifically The Hulk!Neville.

(parent)

ex_delz @ June 20 2003, 12:02:50 UTC

Haha! Obviously since more than one person has realized it, we must be right.
Neville must be stopped! I bet the emergency that is happening is all his fault, he got angry.

(parent)

serpensortia @ June 20 2003, 12:26:45 UTC

When is Neville ever really angry though?

He gets miffed, annoyed, but angry? He's allowed to do it once in a while and if it's causing the school structural damage...well, that's a hell of alot of anger to be bottling up. Good on him for setting it freeeee!

(parent)

notapipe @ June 20 2003, 15:09:42 UTC

I doubt it. The attack occured during first period (Crabbe said it happened during History of Magic w/ Hufflepuff, which places it during first or second period and Ginny is with Wiglorn of Muggle Studies which places it in first period).

First period is an Elective for 6th year Gryffindors, in Neville's case, Diviniation certianly, possibly one of the others. These aren't mixed classes, there's no Colin and no Snape. There's no incentive to go crazy.

Furthermore, Ginny notes that it is below the Muggle Studies room, Ginny speculates charms, but either way it's not in the North (or is it South) Tower with Trelawny or the Gryffindor Tower.

I support Punisher!Neville. Coming soon to a theatre near you.

Just edit a few words(or view them metaphorically) and picture Neville grownup and working out.

(parent)

notapipe @ June 20 2003, 15:01:03 UTC

Sweet. Thanks. Maybe this one won't suck so much as the last one.

Well, grown up is right, as of now, Neville doesn't have the punishment vibe going down. Give him a couple of years.

dry_your_eyes @ June 20 2003, 10:42:21 UTC

*hates cliffhangers*
*realizes sadly that they're inevitable*
naya..
Can I at least hope the emergency is caused by Harry and Draco found together in a discreditable position?!:)

(parent)

comava @ June 20 2003, 10:58:30 UTC

I will vainly hope with you.

*wibbles furiously*

(parent)

ex_delz @ June 20 2003, 13:03:48 UTC

Haha. I was actually hoping for some sort of post, "Where are Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy?! This is an emergency!" and then someone could've found them snogging in a closet of some sort.
Sigh, a girl can dream.

Woe, woe is me. Life is just not fair!

I wanted N_A to be here to distract me from my anxiousness about OotP!

No one else seems to have finished but me, though.

(parent)

Yeah, I suppose OotP kinda causes a problem for the community. Are they gonna kill the player? I hope not, it was bad enough reading it once!

(parent)

Anonymous @ June 21 2003, 11:21:23 UTC

No, we would be spoiling mad amounts of people. NA is AU now. Characterisations likely won't be taken from book five either.
